The Odeck's Protector Armor set is one of the best-looking pieces of gear in Crimson Desert, and you don't need to wait for a late-game questline to wear it. All five pieces are sitting in fixed locations across the open world, each one locked behind a breakable wall, a hidden crevice, or an enemy-filled hideout. This guide covers every location with step-by-step directions so you can assemble the full set early.
Can you get Odeck's Protector without completing the main story?
Yes. According to information documented across multiple sources including Destructoid and Sportskeeda, there are two ways to obtain the full set. The first is completing the Slumbering Soul quest, part of the Odeck Tribe faction questline, which rewards the entire set along with a matching awakened spirit weapon. The catch is that this questline doesn't unlock until you're past Chapter 8, making it a late-game option at best.
The second method skips the questline entirely. All five armor pieces are hidden in fixed locations across the map and can be collected in any order. For most players, hunting them down individually is the faster path.
info
The Focus Force Palm ability (activated with L3+R3+R3) is required for several of these locations. Make sure you have it before heading out.Where to find all 5 Odeck's Protector armor pieces
Plate Helm location (Hexe Sanctuary cave)
Head north of Demeniss toward the Hexe Sanctuary. You're looking for a cave entrance hidden behind a metal wall in the cliff face. The wall won't budge with a regular attack. Use Focus Force Palm (L3+R3+R3) to locate the golden orb embedded in the wall, then strike it. The wall explodes, opening the cave. The Treasure Chest inside holds the Protector Plate Helm. According to Sportskeeda's breakdown, the cave sits between Hexe Sanctuary and Denn River near a fast travel point, and the breakable wall here requires three Force Palm hits rather than one. Past the wall, you'll encounter Abyss Cells that need to be collected and sealed with Axiom Force before you can proceed deeper.

Break walls with Force Palm
Plate Armor (chest piece) location (Four Pits of Wayward Woods)
Travel northwest of Pailune into the Wayward Woods. The chest piece is inside an underground pit called the Four Pits of the Wayward Woods, located at the top of Silver Wolf Mountain. The entrance is a blocked cliff wall. Use Focus Force Palm to find and strike the golden orb, destroying the wall. Drop into the pit and open the Treasure Chest. Sportskeeda notes the area is noticeably foggy and atmospheric compared to the other locations.
warning
The Four Pits of Wayward Woods area is more challenging than the other chest locations. Clear any enemies before focusing on the chest.
Plate Cloak location (Blackbear's Hideout)
This one takes the most navigation. Head to Silver Wolf Mountain east of Pailune and find Blackbear's Hideout. The important detail, confirmed by both Sportskeeda and Destructoid, is that you should not enter the obvious cave at the back of the area. Instead, look for a crevice in the wall between a bridge below and a watchtower above. A section of wall sticks out noticeably, and inside that gap is a ladder leading underground.
Once you drop in, you're dealing with a single corridor packed with Black Bear enemies. Fighting through them is the recommended approach since the path doesn't branch. Watch for ceiling collapse sections as you descend. At the bottom, reach the large open chamber, clear the enemies, then head left from the bottom of the stairs. Continue left and drop through a small hole in the floor via a short ladder. The Protector Plate Cloak is sitting loose on the floor at the bottom, not in a chest, so it's easy to walk past if you're not paying attention.
Plate Gloves location (Perwin Quarry)
Venture south of Hernand into the Witchwoods, then continue further south to Perwin Quarry. There's a metal wall in the cliffside blocking a cave entrance. Use Focus Force Palm to locate the golden orb and strike it to open the wall. According to Sportskeeda, there are Abyss Cells inside that can be collected using the Axiom Force method before you proceed to the Treasure Chest at the back. The chest also contains a Palmar Pill alongside the gloves.
info
The Protector Plate Gloves have an 18 Attack stat, making them one of the more offensively useful pieces in the set despite their low defense number.Plate Boots location (Sanctum of Temperance)
The boots are the most straightforward piece to grab. Head south of Hernand to the Sanctum of Temperance. From the entrance, go to the northeast side and take the stairs up. Look for a window-like opening in the wall and climb through it. On the other side, there's a second opening covered by bushes that's easy to miss on a first pass. Walk through the bushes and you'll find a Treasure Chest containing the Protector Plate Boots. No Force Palm required here.
Is the Slumbering Soul quest worth it instead?
For most players, no. The individual piece route gets you the full set before you're anywhere near Chapter 8, and the locations aren't especially difficult once you know where to look. The Slumbering Soul quest does reward a matching awakened spirit weapon alongside the armor, which is a meaningful bonus. If you're already deep into the Odeck Tribe faction content, finishing the questline makes sense. If you just want the armor for defense, aesthetics, or the Abyss Gear bonuses, collecting the pieces individually is the clear choice.
