The Righteous Verdict is one of the best two-handed weapons you can grab in Crimson Desert without spending a single skill point or fighting a mandatory boss. It sits inside the Demeniss Ancestors' Ruins, waiting for anyone willing to navigate a cave, cross some stone pillars, and open a couple of doors. The entire run can be done without engaging a single enemy if you play it smart.

Where is the Righteous Verdict located?

The sword is found inside the Demeniss Ancestors' Ruins, a hidden underground complex accessed through a cave at the Nightfell Expedition Camp in Wells Estate. According to IGN's location guide, the camp sits near the southernmost tip of Demeniss, northeast of the Steel Mountains and just east of Bowsprite Cape's plunging waterfall.

You do not need to progress through the main story to reach this area. As long as you can physically travel to the Nightfell Expedition Camp, the weapon is yours. If you haven't explored far beyond Hernand yet, your nearest fast travel point is likely the town of Pororin.

How to get to the Nightfell Expedition Camp

From Pororin, ride south toward the coast. The Nightfell Expedition Camp occupies the southern part of Demeniss, sitting between the Steel Mountains and the shoreline. Once you spot the camp, you have two options for dealing with the enemies stationed there:

  • Clear the camp by defeating all guards before heading to the cave entrance.
  • Bypass the camp entirely by climbing the nearby cliff and gliding down into the southwestern corner to avoid most of the enemy patrols.

The bypass route is the faster play. The cave entrance you need sits along the base of the cliff face in the southwestern corner of the camp. Shacknews notes that the cave is located on the northern cliff face, so check both corners if you're having trouble spotting it.

Step-by-step path through the ruins

Once you find the cave entrance, the path forward is linear but has a few moments that can trip you up.

Getting through the cave

  1. Enter the cave and follow the narrow passage forward.
  2. The path opens into a chamber with a waterfall. The tunnel is tight in places, so slow down and stay on the main path.
  3. At the waterfall, turn left and cross the fallen tree trunks. Be careful near the ends of the logs since they break as you reach them, according to Shacknews.
  4. Follow the route behind the waterfall. This leads directly into the Demeniss Ancestors' Ruins.

Navigating the ruins interior

Once past the waterfall, the ruins open up into a more structured environment with two stone doors and a gap crossing.

  1. Head down the stairs at the end of the cave path.
  2. Approach the first large stone door. It opens automatically when you get close.
  3. Cross the gap using the stone pillars as stepping stones. If you fall, you land in water below. Swim to the edge and climb back up as long as your stamina holds, per Game8's walkthrough documentation.
  4. On the far side, approach the second stone door and wait for it to open.
  5. Continue into the next chamber and head toward the far end.

The Righteous Verdict is stabbed into a large stone slab on the ground, roughly three-quarters of the way through the final chamber according to Shacknews. Interact with it to pick it up.

What are the Righteous Verdict's stats?

This weapon punches well above its weight for early-game content:

The pre-installed Abyss Gear on the weapon includes Gale II (Attack Speed 2), Destruction I (Attack 1), and Insight I (Critical Rate 1). The 5 open Abyss Gear slots mean you can visit any Witch and attach additional gear to push the weapon further.

Why is this worth getting early?

The Lv. 3 Critical Rate is the headline stat. Most weapons you find through normal early-game progression don't come with critical rate bonuses at this level, and the Lv. 2 Attack Speed on top of it makes the Righteous Verdict feel noticeably faster and harder-hitting than standard two-handed options. The 23 Attack base is solid, and the 5 Abyss Gear slots give you room to specialize it toward whatever build direction you're taking.

The fact that you can grab it with zero required combat makes it a strong candidate for a first-session detour, especially if you're building around two-handed weapons. Check out the full Righteous Verdict location breakdown on IGN for additional map context, or read Polygon's detailed walkthrough of the ruins path for an alternate route perspective.
