The Scorchflame armor is one of the better mid-game sets you can grab in Crimson Desert, and the reason most players want it comes down to one item: the Scorchflame Plate Gloves. Those gloves carry the Volcanic Eruption abyss gear, which detonates a molten boulder on embedded attacks to hit nearby enemies with AoE damage. The rest of the set layers on fire resistance across most pieces, making it a strong pick before you start running into fire-heavy enemy compositions. All five pieces sit in the Demeniss region, which keeps the hunt fairly contained.
What makes the Scorchflame set worth getting?
Before tracking down each chest, it helps to know what you're actually collecting. The set is a mix of leather and plate pieces, and the stats vary quite a bit between them. According to TheGamer's documented testing, here's what each piece brings:
The gloves are clearly the standout. The plate armor's Fire Resistance Level 7 is the highest defensive value in the set, though it has no abyss gear slots. The boots are an underrated pick for their passive health regeneration and 10% experience gain, even outside fire-focused builds.

Twilight Grotto cave entrance
How to get the Scorchflame Plate Gloves
Head northwest of the "D" in the Demeniss map text, toward the area just south of Hills of No Return. You're looking for a spot where streams converge into two waterfalls close together. Drop down into the ravine at the base of both falls and approach the waterfall on the northeast side (or the right-hand one when facing them). A stack of rocks marks the correct waterfall. Use the Stab skill (Right Trigger + Y on Xbox, Right Trigger + Triangle on PlayStation) to push through the water and into the Twilight Grotto cave behind it. Follow the path to find the chest with the Scorchflame Plate Gloves, along with a Refined Palmer Pill and some smaller chests.
How to get the Scorchflame Plate Cloak
Don't leave the Twilight Grotto area yet. From the gloves cave entrance, look south to find a separate cave opening. Swim through it, turn left, and you'll enter the Silent Falls Hideout. The first room spawns the Grave Walker, a stone golem mini-boss.
How to beat the Grave Walker
The Grave Walker is slow but hits hard. Its most dangerous move is an overhead slam, so when you see both arms raise, back off and wait for the strike to land before moving back in. The real priority is filling the yellow stagger bar under its health. Once that fills, the boss shatters into separate rocks. Focus all damage on the core rock while it's down since the Grave Walker takes significantly more damage in this state and can be finished before it reassembles.
info
Defeating the Grave Walker is optional for the cloak, but fighting it in an active boss room is more annoying than just killing it. The stagger mechanic makes this fight shorter than it looks.
After the fight (or while the boss is staggered), head to the southeast wall and climb to its highest point. Hold Q on PC or L2/LT on controller to grip the wall, then use Force Palm. The wall rotates to reveal a hidden chamber. The chest inside contains the Scorchflame Plate Cloak.
How to get the Scorchflame Leather Boots
Climb back up to the top of the two waterfalls and look left for a larger, single waterfall in the distance. Head over and land on the stone path leading into the water. Use the Stab skill again to pass through into the Cascade Grotto, which Polygon identifies as being northwest of Reventine Monastery in Demeniss. Follow the tunnel to the end to find the chest with the Scorchflame Leather Boots, plus another Refined Palmer Pill and small chests.
How to get the Scorchflame Plate Helm
From the boots location, head northeast to Stonewell Farm, which sits northwest of the "D" in the Demeniss map text. Look for the tall building resembling a small tower on the western side of the farm. The chest is at the top floor. You can reach it two ways: climb the ladder inside, or jump onto the small balcony from the adjacent building.
warning
Depending on your campaign progress, Stonewell Farm may be overrun with Bastier's Inquisitors. You don't need to clear them to grab the helm, but watch for the trap door on the floor near the chest, which drops you to the lower level.
The helm comes at Refinement Level 2 with 4 Defense and a single abyss gear slot carrying Fire Resistance Level 1. As TheGamer notes, it also has an open-face design that makes it look like a dragon is biting your head, which is either a selling point or a dealbreaker depending on your taste.
How to get the Scorchflame Plate Armor
The final piece is at the Golden Trading Post, located east of Stonewell Farm and north of the first "E" in the Demeniss map text. Take the middle road through the trading post. At the west end, you'll find two flights of stairs with a wooden door between them. Crouch and push through the door to open it (it's a hidden rotating panel). The chest inside holds the Scorchflame Plate Armor, which carries 14 Defense, Critical Rate Level 2, and the set's highest fire resistance at Level 7.
The plate armor has no abyss gear slots, so it's a pure defensive piece. For fire-heavy encounters, it's excellent. For general use, you may prefer pieces with abyss slots active.
Is the full set worth running together?
Honestly, mixing and matching is smarter than wearing all five pieces. The gloves are mandatory if you're running any fire-imbued skill build. The plate armor's Fire Resistance Level 7 makes it the go-to chest piece for fire-based bosses. The boots' passive health regeneration and 10% XP bonus are useful well beyond Demeniss. The helm and cloak are situational filler.
