The Monolith Crown puzzle is one of the more satisfying Abyss Challenges in Crimson Desert, but it will stop you cold if you do not know where the cage controller is hiding. The puzzle sits at the end of a specific Abyss path and rewards you with an Abyss Artifact once solved. Here is everything you need to get through it without wasting time.

How do you reach Monolith Crown?

Monolith Crown is not a location you stumble into. The path runs through the following sequence:

Spire of Soaring → Crescent Skybridge → Monolith Crown

You access the Crescent Skybridge from Crow's Nest, but there is a catch: you must first complete the puzzle at Crow's Nest before its Skybridge unlocks. Skip that step and you will find yourself staring at a locked passage. Handle Crow's Nest first, then follow the Skybridge path to reach Monolith Crown.

What is the Monolith Crown puzzle and how does it work?

The puzzle centers on a suspended cage fitted with laser emitters on multiple sides. The walls of the area have orange blocks mounted on them. Your goal is to rotate the cage so that every laser beam points directly at one of those orange blocks. When all lasers are aligned, the mechanism activates and you can claim the reward.

The tricky part is that the cage is not controlled from where you are standing when you first enter the area. The controller is placed away from the cage itself, and finding it is half the battle.

How to Solve the Monolith Crown Puzzle

Step 1: Find the cage controller

The controller for the cage sits on the northwest side of the area. The fastest way to locate it is to follow the electrical lines that currently have no power running through them. These dead lines lead directly to the controller.

To physically reach the controller, jump down to the left of where the Abyss Artifact will eventually spawn. That drop puts you on the correct level to access it.

Step 2: Rotate the cage and align the right-side lasers first

Once you are at the controller, begin rotating the cage. Do not try to align all sides simultaneously. The recommended approach from community documentation is to start with the 2 lasers on the right side of the cage and match them to 2 of the orange blocks on the walls.

Getting those 2 lasers locked in first gives you a reference point. From there, rotating the cage to align the remaining lasers becomes significantly easier because you are working from a fixed anchor rather than trying to eyeball all sides at once.

Step 3: Activate the switch with Force Palm

With all lasers aligned to their orange blocks, head to the switch in the area. Use the Force Palm skill to activate it. The mechanism triggers, the Abyss Artifact spawns, and the challenge is complete.

The sole reward from the Monolith Crown puzzle is an Abyss Artifact. These are valuable items used in Abyss Gear progression, so the trip is worth making.

How does Monolith Crown compare to other Abyss puzzles?

Monolith Crown follows the same reward structure as other Abyss Challenges in Crimson Desert, but the laser rotation mechanic sets it apart from the more common switch and platform puzzles found elsewhere in the Abyss path network.

All Abyss Challenges feed into the same Abyss Artifact economy, so clearing Monolith Crown is one of several efficient ways to stack up this resource
