The Jindo is one of Crimson Desert's most sought-after dog companions, and for good reason. It looks nearly identical to a Shiba Inu, comes in three coat colors, and sits patiently in Hernand Town waiting for someone to bring it a snack. Getting one as a pet takes less effort than most players expect, but you do need to know exactly where to look and what to feed it.
Where to find Jindo in Crimson Desert
According to GameRant's guide, Jindo spawns in Hernand Town, specifically just south of the "D" in "Hernand" on the map. There are two spawn points to check:
- The large tree inside Hernand Town
- The Tannery and Stables located just outside the town walls
Three coat variants exist: White Jindo, Black Jindo, and Brown Jindo. Each has a random chance to appear at either spawn point, so there's no guarantee which one shows up on any given visit.

What to do if Jindo isn't spawning
This is where players get stuck. If the dog simply isn't there, or you want a specific coat color, the fix is straightforward. Fast travel to the Abyss Nexus to force the area to respawn, then check the two locations again. After a few attempts, one of the three Jindo variants should appear.
Cycle through the Abyss Nexus fast travel a few times back-to-back if you're hunting a specific coat. The random spawn pool is small, so you won't need to repeat this many times.
What is Jindo's favorite food in Crimson Desert?
Sweet Potatoes are Jindo's favorite food, granting +35 Trust per feeding according to the source. You can buy Sweet Potatoes from the Grocer Shop in Hernand Town, and they're also stocked in other towns and cities across the map.
Since you need 100 Trust total to adopt Jindo, three feedings of Sweet Potatoes gets you to exactly +105, which clears the threshold with one feeding to spare.

Alternative foods if you run low
Running out of Sweet Potatoes mid-tame isn't a disaster. Small Bones and Large Bones both work as substitutes, each granting +25 Trust. They're slower, but they get the job done.
How to feed Jindo
The feeding mechanic in Crimson Desert is physical rather than menu-driven. To feed Jindo:
- Open your inventory and drop the food (Sweet Potatoes, bones, or Tender Meat) directly in front of the dog
- Wait for Jindo to eat the dropped item
- Watch the Trust meter increase after each feeding
- Once Trust reaches +100, press Square on PlayStation or X on Xbox to "Take In" the dog
The drop-to-feed system catches a lot of players off guard since it's not a standard interaction prompt. Drop the food on the ground near the dog and let it come to the item.
Don't drop multiple food items at once expecting the Trust meter to stack instantly. Feed one item, let Jindo eat it, and confirm the Trust gain before dropping the next.
