Diablo 4 Guide: How to Get Argent Veil

The Paladin is back in Diablo 4, and the community is already hunting for the gear that makes the class truly sing. The Argent Veil is a unique ring exclusive to the Paladin, and it does something no other item does: it lets the class auto-cast Core Skills during Arbiter's Evade at zero Faith cost. That alone makes it one of the most sought-after drops in the current endgame.

What is the Argent Veil and why does it matter?

The Argent Veil is a unique ring tied specifically to the Paladin's Arbiter form. According to the item's official unique effects, Arbiter's Evade triggers a random equipped Core Skill for every 2.0 meters traveled. On top of that, Core Skills deal 40 to 60%[x] increased damage during Arbiter's Evade and for 4 seconds after.

The real kicker is the Faith cost. Normally, Core Skills drain resources, but the Argent Veil removes that cost entirely during the Evade window. For builds that rely on expensive or Life-costing Core Skills, this ring effectively removes the biggest limiting factor on your damage output.

The base stats on the ring are also worth noting. Based on the official item data:

That Vulnerable Damage ceiling of 75% after mastercrafting is significant for any Paladin build leaning into the Arbiter of Justice skill tree.

How do you get the Argent Veil in Diablo 4?

There is no guaranteed source for the Argent Veil. It drops from a specific pool of bosses, and the ring can also appear through two alternative methods. Here is every confirmed drop source:

  • Echo of Duriel
  • Echo of Andariel
  • Harbinger of Hatred
  • Grigoire
  • Lord Zir

The community consensus, as documented by Insider Gaming, is that farming Echo of Duriel and Echo of Andariel gives you the best odds. Both bosses are tough, with a minimum game difficulty of Torment 1 required to spawn them. That creates a bit of a progression loop: you need the Argent Veil to push a Hammerdin build toward Torment 4, but you have to clear Torment 1 content to even have a shot at the ring dropping.

Alternative ways to get the Argent Veil

Boss farming is the primary route, but two other methods can produce the ring without requiring you to kill the same elite bosses repeatedly:

  • Resplendent Chests inside Nightmare Dungeons have a chance to contain the Argent Veil.
  • Purveyors of Curiosities let you gamble Obols for a shot at unique rings, including the Argent Veil.

The Obol gambling route is worth considering if you are sitting on a large stack and have not seen the ring drop naturally. The odds are not guaranteed, but it adds another avenue when boss runs start to feel repetitive.

Which bosses should you prioritize for farming?

After running the numbers on available drop sources, the short answer is: Duriel and Andariel first, everything else as a bonus. Grigoire and Lord Zir are on the drop table, but the community has settled on the Echo bosses as the most efficient targets.

Harbinger of Hatred is also on the list, which makes sense given the Paladin's connection to the Lord of Hatred expansion content. If you are already running that content for progression, any Harbinger kill is a free roll on the ring.

Building around the Argent Veil

The ring is designed to be the centerpiece of a Hammerdin-style build, where you cycle through Arbiter's Evade repeatedly to auto-cast Core Skills and stack the 40 to 60%[x] damage bonus. The 4-second damage window after Evade ends gives you a small burst phase to maximize hits.

Because the ring scales with the Arbiter of Justice skill, you want at least one Arbiter skill slotted for the unique effect to activate. The zero Faith cost on auto-cast Core Skills means you can slot high-cost abilities without worrying about running dry mid-fight.

The mastercrafted Vulnerable Damage bonus pairs well with any source of the Vulnerable debuff in your build. Pushing the ring to its maximum potential requires investment, but the base stats alone at 40 to 50% Vulnerable Damage are already competitive at Torment 1 through Torment 3 content.
