Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 4 Guide: How to Get Trick or Treat Sprites

Fortnitemares 2026 has landed in Fortnite and with it comes one of the most extensive new Sprite drops of Chapter 7 Season 4: 24 Trick or Treat variants, each wearing an orange-and-red Halloween makeover. They arrive on October 8 as part of update v42.30, and unlike some limited Sprite types, they stay in the game permanently after Fortnitemares ends. Whether you are chasing a complete collection or just want the strongest utility Sprites dressed up for the season, this guide covers every variant, its ability, and exactly where to find it.

What are Trick or Treat Sprites and how do they work?

Trick or Treat Sprites are Halloween-themed variants of existing Chapter 7 Season 4 Sprites. Every single one of them carries the same bonus on top of their base ability: a chance to drop Candy Corn whenever you open a container such as a chest or ammo box. Candy Corn grants 1 health per second and a small shield top-up, which makes it a passive sustain tool across the whole match.

The base abilities are identical to their standard counterparts. What changes is the visual design, the orange glow, and the Candy Corn perk layered on top. These Sprites level up through normal means: opening chests, smashing pumpkins, looting containers, extracting Sprites, and eliminating opponents, NPCs, or bosses. The Trick or Treat Klombo and Trick or Treat Crown are the two exceptions, with their own unlock rules explained below.

How to get Trick or Treat Sprites in Fortnite

There are four reliable methods to collect Trick or Treat Sprites:

  • Smash pumpkins scattered across the map, with the highest density in the new Nightmare Neighborhood POI that replaced Battlewoods for Fortnitemares 2026.
  • Enter Cheat Codes at Override consoles. This is the most consistent method for targeting specific variants since each Sprite has a preferred spawn zone tied to a named location.
  • Open rare chests and Vaults. Trick or Treat Sprites can drop from high-tier loot containers throughout the map.
  • Use the Skeleton Key to unlock Secret Rooms, which contain concentrated loot and a solid chance at Sprite drops.
  • Trade with friends if you already have duplicates of a variant you need.

Spawn rates vary significantly by variant. The Trick or Treat Dumpster Dive Sprite sits at roughly 5.861% spawn chance, while the Trick or Treat Klombo Sprite drops at an almost comical 0.0001%. Factor that in before committing your entire session to hunting Klombo.

Which Trick or Treat Sprites are actually worth using?

The Candy Corn perk is a nice passive bonus but it is not the reason to run these Sprites over their standard counterparts. The decision comes down to which base ability fits your playstyle, and the Halloween skin is purely cosmetic on top of that.

Trick or Treat Vampire is the standout for aggressive players. Health-on-hit is one of the strongest sustain mechanics in the game and it rewards you for doing what you are already doing in fights. Pair it with a high-fire-rate weapon and you become very hard to eliminate in sustained exchanges.

Trick or Treat Storm Scout is the pick for players who struggle with late-game positioning. Overdrive after storm damage keeps you mobile when the circle forces bad rotations, and the max-level storm reveal is genuinely useful in final circles.

Trick or Treat Onigiri works well with any healing-heavy loadout. Triggering Overdrive off consumables means you get a speed and combat burst every time you heal, which turns defensive plays into offensive windows.

Trick or Treat Shadow is quietly one of the best options for build-mode players. Automatic reloads on unequipped weapons mean your secondary is always ready, and at max level your primary reloads itself too.

For a broader look at how Sprites function in Chapter 7 Season 4 and which other Halloween-specific ones are worth hunting, the Spooky Dash Sprite guide covers the phase-dash ability in detail, and the Vampire Sprite guide breaks down health siphon and all six standard variants.

How rare are Trick or Treat Sprites?

Rarity is tied directly to the base Sprite, not the Trick or Treat skin itself. Here is a quick breakdown of the spectrum:

  • Common end: Trick or Treat Dumpster Dive at roughly 5.861% spawn chance. You will find this one quickly.
  • Rare end: Trick or Treat Klombo at 0.0001%. This is one of the rarest drops in the entire season.
  • Most variants fall somewhere between those extremes, with location-specific Cheat Code farming being the most efficient route for targeted hunting.

Using the Lucky Locator gizmo meaningfully improves your odds during a session. Always extract Sprites before the match ends rather than using them in-game if your goal is collection, since extraction locks them into your permanent roster.

Where should you farm first?

Nightmare Neighborhood is the single best starting point. It contains pumpkins, rare chests, and Cheat Code consoles in one compact area, and it is the primary spawn zone for Trick or Treat Vampire, Trick or Treat Spooky Dash, and Trick or Treat Jackrabbit. Three strong Sprites from one drop location is hard to beat.

Green Hill Zone covers all three Sonic universe Sprites (Sonic, Tails, Shadow) in a single loop, making it an efficient second stop. Stone Sanctum handles Adventure, Birthday, and Crash Bandicoot, so a combined Nightmare Neighborhood to Green Hill Zone to Stone Sanctum route gives you access to nine variants in one match if the drops cooperate.
