Forza Horizon 6 hides 9 Treasure Cars across its sprawling Japan map, and the hints the game gives you are generous only in their vagueness. Unlike Barn Finds, which have been part of the series for years, Treasure Cars are a newer mechanic with far less hand-holding. Collect all 9 and you unlock exclusive vehicles plus the Treasure Hunter achievement. This guide covers every single location with enough detail to drive straight to each one.
What are Treasure Cars in Forza Horizon 6?
Treasure Cars are hidden vehicles parked at specific spots across the Japan map. Each one comes with a cryptic clue and a partial image, giving you just enough information to narrow down the general area. The actual car is often tucked behind a building, down a dirt road, or in a car park you would never stumble across naturally. There are 9 in total, and you need all of them for the Treasure Hunter achievement.
Treasure Cars are separate from Barn Finds. Both reward unique vehicles, but Treasure Cars require you to physically drive to a hidden spot rather than wait for a discovery event to trigger.

All 9 Treasure Car locations
Here is a quick reference table before the full breakdown:
Tokyo City: 1991 Nissan Figaro
The Nissan Figaro is likely the first Treasure Car hint you will receive, and it sits along the Tokyo City waterfront overlooking the Rainbow Bridge. Start at the Rainbow Run Speed Trap, follow the bridge toward the mainland, then track along the road that hugs the shoreline. You are looking for a small car park outside a shop. Pan the camera toward the bridge to confirm you are in the right stretch of road.
Shimanoyama: 1987 Porsche 959
The Porsche 959 is the trickiest of the nine to locate. The car park it sits in is set well back from the road, so you can drive past without noticing it. Head to the Shimanoyama region and follow the main road alongside the fields. Look for a large car park in front of a shop. Visiting at night can help, since the shop lights stand out against the darker surroundings.
If you are struggling with the Porsche 959, approach from the road rather than cutting across the fields. The car park entrance is easier to spot when you are following the road at normal speed.
Tateyama Kurobe Alpine Route: 1974 Lancia Stratos HF Stradale
The Lancia Stratos is parked beside a small cabin on the western side of the Tateyama Kurobe Alpine Route, the iconic mountain road flanked by towering snow walls. Drive through the Alpine Route from the east, then circle right when you exit. The cabin is close to the route exit, and the car is waiting right beside it.

Minamino: 1969 Dodge Charger R/T
The Dodge Charger R/T sits on the eastern edge of the golf course in the Minamino region. The golf course is easy to identify on the map because the lighter green of the fairways stands out clearly. Look for the water hazard that forms a rough figure-of-eight shape as your positioning reference. Drive around the eastern edge until you spot a cluster of golf buggies parked near a building, and the Charger is close by.
Hokubu: 1981 BMW M1
The clue for the BMW M1 mentions a railway bridge with scaffolding, which does most of the work for you. Follow the railway line in the Hokubu region and watch for scaffolding next to the bridge supports. The red paintwork on the M1 makes it stand out once you are in the right area.
Nangan: 2005 Ford GT
The Ford GT requires you to leave the tarmac. The clue image shows the Tokyo dockyards, which are visible from several coastal roads in the Nangan region, so do not spend too long trying to match the exact angle. Instead, head to the coastal area and follow a dirt road until you reach an off-road car park. The Ford GT is parked there.
Do not rely solely on the dockyard view in the clue image for the Ford GT. That vista is visible from too wide an area to be useful. Head directly to the dirt road car park instead.
Ohtani: 1985 Mazda RX-7 GSL-SE
The Mazda RX-7 GSL-SE sits near a giant red electricity pylon on the edge of the Ohtani region, south of where the Porsche 959 was located. The red pylon acts as a beacon. Once you reach it, the RX-7 itself is parked next to the white pylon a short distance away.

Takashiro: 1995 Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution III
The Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution III is waiting near a waterfall in the northern part of the map. Find the mountain on the left side of the Takashiro region and track the river that flows from it. Follow the river to the waterfall, then take the small dirt road nearby to reach the car park. Classic rally car, genuinely satisfying location.
Ito: 1984 Nissan Safari Turbo
The Nissan Safari Turbo is the most straightforward of the nine. Head to the Wind Farm on the far right of the map, find the sharp hairpin in the winding roads through the hills, and look directly beneath one of the turbines. The car is parked right there.

How do you unlock the Treasure Hunter achievement?
Collect all 9 Treasure Cars listed above and the Treasure Hunter achievement unlocks automatically. There is no additional step required beyond physically driving to each location and picking up the car. The vehicles themselves are added to your garage and can be driven, tuned, and modified like any other car in the game.
Tips for hunting Treasure Cars efficiently
- Work through the map region by region rather than jumping randomly between hints. The table above groups them geographically, so you can clear clusters in one session.
- The Porsche 959 and Ford GT are the two most likely to waste your time. Use the landmark descriptions above rather than the in-game clue images for those two.
- Night time visibility helps at Shimanoyama, where the shop lights make the car park easier to spot.
- Off-road capable cars save time at the Nangan Ford GT location, where you need to leave the main road.
For everything else you need before and after launch, the Forza Horizon 6 guides collection covers release timing, early access options, the full car list, and more to get you up to speed.
