Who is Prune and why should you pre-farm now?
Prune is a 4-Star Anemo catalyst user arriving in Genshin Impact during version 6.6, featured as a boosted 4-Star on the Phase 1 banners alongside the 5-Star Nicole. Her kit revolves around the Witchlure Bell and Banehunter Oathhammer, triggering Swirl reactions to unlock Elemental Conversion and buff the entire party through her Tolling Rally passive. If you plan to pull her, starting the material grind before she drops will save you weeks of resin.
All kit and material details are based on beta data and could change slightly before Prune's official release in version 6.6.
What are all of Prune's ascension and talent materials?
Below is everything you need to take Prune from level 1 to 90 and all three talents to level 10.
Total ascension materials
Total talent materials (all three talents to level 10)
The Insignia totals combine across both ascension and talent farming, so expect to grind Treasure Hoarders extensively. The 168 Winter Icelea requirement is the most time-gated item on this list since local specialties only respawn every 48 hours.
Local specialties respawn 48 hours after you collect them. Run co-op in other players' worlds to collect additional Winter Icelea without waiting for your own respawn timer.
Prune ascension materials per level
Here is the exact breakdown for each ascension phase, so you can plan resin spending as you go:
How do you get each Prune material?
Where to find Winter Icelea
Winter Icelea is Prune's local specialty and the single biggest farming commitment on this list. It grows in the Voidsea Outlook and Wavechaser Plains areas of Nod-Krai. The Wavechaser Plains route alone yields around 45 per run, and Ashveil Peak adds another 24, so a full sweep of both zones gets you close to 70 per cycle. Equip the Seed Dispensary gadget while collecting to also grab seeds, which you can plant in Luxuriant Glebe fields in your Serenitea Pot for a passive supply.
Where to get Radiant Antler
Radiant Antler drops from the Frostnight Herra field boss, located on Hiisi Island in the westernmost part of Nod-Krai. The boss must be at least level 30 to drop this material. You can track it through the Adventurer's Handbook if you have not already unlocked the area.
Where to farm Resistance talent books
The Teachings, Guide, and Philosophies of Resistance all come from the Forsaken Rift domain in Mondstadt, situated between Springvale and Dragonspine. This domain is only available on Tuesdays, Fridays, and Sundays, so plan your resin around those days. Each run costs 20 Original Resin, or 40 for condensed double rewards.
Resistance books are not available Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, or Saturday. If you forget to run the domain on open days, you lose that window until the next cycle.
How to get Mask of the Virtuous Doctor
This weekly boss drop comes from The Doctor (also referred to as Il Dottore), whose Trounce Domain is located at the Falls Moon Institute in Nod-Krai. The domain costs 30 Original Resin for your first three weekly clears, then 60 after that. You can only claim rewards once per week per boss, with the limit resetting every Monday at 04:00 server time. Fully maxing all three of Prune's talents requires 18 Mask of the Virtuous Doctor, which means at minimum 18 weekly clears if you get the right drop every time.
Where to get Vayuda Turquoise gems
Vayuda Turquoise drops from Anemo field bosses including the Anemo Hypostasis, Scaramouche Boss, Maguu Kenki, Stormterror Dvalin, and Setekh Wenut, among others. You can also convert excess gems of other elements using Dust of Azoth at the Alchemy Bench if you are sitting on stockpiles from other characters.
Prune talent materials per level
Here is the per-level cost for a single talent. Multiply by three for all abilities:
Should you prioritize talents for Prune?
Prune's damage buffs appear to scale off her ATK stat through her passive abilities rather than talent level scaling. Getting her to level 90 for the base ATK increase matters more than rushing talents to 10. That said, if you plan to use her Elemental Burst actively for damage, leveling the Burst talent does increase its output. Treat talent levels as secondary investment unless you specifically want her as a damage dealer rather than a buffer.

Prune's Constellations: are they worth chasing?
Since Prune is a 4-Star, she will appear on future banners and eventually move to the standard pool, making her easier to constellation than 5-Stars. Here is a quick breakdown of her six Constellation levels:
- C1: After the converted Banehunter Oathhammer hits an opponent, Prune recovers 2 Energy. This effect triggers once every 1.8 seconds, helping with Burst uptime.
- C2: Activates the Hunt the Witch effect during the Burst, raising Prune's ATK by up to 40% while the Witchlure Bell is in Hunter-Seeker mode.
- C3: Raises the Elemental Burst level by 3 (max level 15).
- C4: After a converted Oathhammer hit, the hammer ricochets to a nearby opponent for 80% ATK as elemental damage.
- C5: Raises the Elemental Skill level by 3 (max level 15).
- C6: Extends Hunter-Seeker mode by 4 seconds. Party members affected by Tolling Rally who trigger any Elemental Reaction grant Prune and other active Tolling Rally characters 350 ATK for 5 seconds.
C2 and C6 are the standout upgrades. C2 meaningfully increases her ATK during the Burst window, and C6 adds a strong team-wide ATK spike on reaction triggers. C1 is a solid quality-of-life improvement for energy management.
Prune's kit summary
For context on why you are farming all of this, here is what Prune actually does:
- Normal Attack (Badaboom! Hexbuster Hammer): Up to three Anemo hits with the Banehunter Oathhammer. Holding performs a charged upward swing.
- Elemental Skill (Ring-A-Ding-Ding! Hexhunter Chime): Hits the Witchlure Bell for Anemo damage. If this triggers Swirl, the skill transforms into a kick that launches the converted Oathhammer forward, dealing damage matching the Swirl element.
- Elemental Burst (The Bell Tolls! The Hunt is On!): Swings the Witchlure Bell for AoE Anemo damage, then sends it into Hunter-Seeker mode where it follows the active character and attacks surrounding enemies at intervals.
- Key passive (Tolling Synchronicity): After hitting with a converted Oathhammer, nearby party members gain Tolling Rally for 5 seconds, increasing their damage based on Prune's ATK in excess of 1,000. Every excess ATK point adds 0.01% damage, capped at 35%.
- Hexerei passive: When the party has at least two Hexerei characters, triggering an Elemental Reaction while under Tolling Rally raises Prune's ATK by 45% for 5 seconds, with an additional 20% if Swirl is also triggered.
The Hexerei synergy is worth noting for team building, since it specifically rewards running multiple Hexerei characters together. Check out the Genshin Impact version 6.5 Luna VI patch rundown for context on the recent meta shifts heading into 6.6.
Prune's passive grants a 10% chance to receive a bonus regional Character Talent Material (matching rarity) when crafting at the Alchemy Bench. This makes her genuinely useful to have on your roster even when not in combat.
Recommended farming schedule
Farming Prune from scratch to level 90 with all talents maxed takes roughly two to four weeks of consistent resin spending, depending on how many Fragile Resin you have banked.
