Building the right habitats is the single most important thing you can do to attract more Pokémon to your world in Pokémon Pokopia. Whether you're just starting out or hunting down the rarest spawns, knowing exactly what items to place and where makes all the difference. What Are Habitats in Pokémon Pokopia?
Habitats are designated areas in your world where wild Pokémon can appear and take up residence. Think of them as the equivalent of spawn zones from the mainline games, except here you actively construct them yourself using items, furniture, and natural terrain features.
You play as a Ditto who can transform into a human, and your main goal is restoring a barren landscape by crafting habitats that lure Pokémon back. The Habitat Dex tracks every habitat you've discovered and built, and filling it out is one of the core progression systems in the game.

Each habitat can only be occupied by one Pokémon at a time. If Bulbasaur already lives in your Tall Grass, Charmander won't show up there. You need to build a second identical habitat to attract the next occupant.

How Do You Unlock Habitats?
Exploring the land sometimes reveals traces of Pokémon on the ground. Interacting with these tiles gives you a hint about a specific habitat, registering it in your Habitat Dex. Once registered, you can check the required items and furniture directly from the Dex, then use Ditto's Moves to place everything in position.
Items don't need to match the exact layout shown in the habitat's icon. They simply need to be placed next to each other. When you've placed everything correctly, a sparkle effect appears confirming the habitat is active.

Always keep at least one spare habitat of each type available. Some Pokémon only appear at specific times of day or during certain weather conditions, so an empty habitat gives rare spawns somewhere to land when conditions line up.
