Kiln launched on April 23, 2026 and immediately threw players into one of the stranger achievement lists in recent memory: 30 unlocks spread across pottery crafting, Quench match combat, and a surprising amount of time spent just spinning clay on a wheel. The full list is worth 1,000 Gamerscore on Xbox, and according to TrueAchievements, only 14 players out of 14,248 tracked have completed it so far. That completion rate tells you everything you need to know about how much deliberate effort this takes.
The good news is that most of these achievements stack naturally if you plan your sessions correctly. Several can be knocked out simultaneously, and knowing which ones to prioritize early saves you from grinding the same content twice.
How long does it take to unlock everything in Kiln?
TrueAchievements estimates the full completion at 20 to 25 hours on Xbox Series X and S. That figure lines up with what the grindier achievements demand on paper. Kiln and Chill requires 8 total hours spent in the Wedge, That's It... Feel the Clay... needs 126 minutes on the Wheel specifically, and Supreme Grandmaster asks you to reach Level 50. None of those are quick weekend jobs.
The starter achievements: what to do first
Four achievements come almost automatically as you learn the game.
- Know-It-All (10 GS): Complete the Tutorial Level. Do this before anything else.
- You're Fired! (10 GS): Fire your first Pot. Happens naturally right after the tutorial.
- Caught Slippin' (10 GS): Unlock the Shop. Progress through early content and this triggers on its own.
- "Hey Mom. Mom. Mom. Mom." (10 GS): Interact with Celadon more than 5 times within 30 seconds. This is a secret achievement, but it's one of the easiest. Find Celadon and spam the interact button.
What are all the Pot Archetypes for Master Potter?
Master Potter (20 GS) asks you to create at least one Pot of every Archetype. According to the TrueAchievements community guide posted by user HowMuch on April 24, 2026, there are 8 Archetypes across 3 sizes each, giving you 24 total Pots to fire. Here is the full breakdown with each Archetype's associated ability:
Quench match achievements: which ones are hardest?
Quench is Kiln's competitive mode where players smash Pots into each other, and it generates the bulk of the mid-to-late achievement list. Several of these are genuinely tricky.
The straightforward Quench achievements:
- Thirst for Quench (40 GS): Play 50 Quench Matches. Pure time investment, no conditions.
- Under Pressure (20 GS): Create 3 Pots on the Wheel during a single Quench match. Prioritize pottery over aggression in one match.
- Sharing Is Caring (10 GS): Win a match using another player's Pot. Grab a community Pot from the collection before queuing.
The harder Quench achievements:
- U Can't Touch This (20 GS): Win a Quench match without getting Smashed. Play defensively with a Large Pot for maximum survivability.
- Serial Smasher (75 GS): Smash 5 opponents in a row in one match without getting Smashed yourself. One of the highest-value achievements in the game.
- Smashing Spree (75 GS): Smash 12 opponents in a single match. This one demands either a very long match or extremely aggressive play.
- Death From Above (70 GS): Smash 50 opponents by Firing into Matches. Cumulative across all matches, but requires a specific entry method.
- Splash Master (50 GS): Land 3 Super Splashes in one match.
The secret achievements worth knowing about
Several achievements are hidden until triggered. Most are quirky one-offs that reward experimentation.
- Landlord Special (10 GS): Fill every glaze Decoration slot on one Pot with the same glaze. Pick any glaze and repeat it across all slots before firing.
- Dancing Is Forbidden (15 GS): Smash an opponent while they are dancing. Wait for the dance animation and time your hit.
- Punching Above Your Weight (10 GS): Smash a Large Pot with a Small Pot in a match. Use a Small Archetype and target someone running a Large.
- Keep Rollin', Rollin', Rollin' (20 GS): Spend more time rolling than walking in a match. Commit to rolling as your primary movement from the first second.
- Massive Chalice (15 GS): Fire a Large Chalice. Simple, but easy to miss if you never craft the Large Chalice Archetype specifically.
How do you unlock the grind achievements?
The time-sink achievements require consistent session habits more than any specific skill.
- Kiln and Chill (40 GS): 8 hours total in the Wedge. This accumulates across all sessions, so just keep the game running while you craft.
- That's It... Feel the Clay... (50 GS): 126 minutes on the Wheel. Sculpt slowly and deliberately rather than rushing each Pot.
- Smash Me Please?! (40 GS): Smash the training dummy Potty 25 times in the Wedge. Use this to farm Wheel time simultaneously.
- Solid Gold (60 GS): Use Kintsugi Paste to heal 50 times. Keep Kintsugi Paste equipped and use it whenever your health drops.
- Make It Rain (15 GS): Splash every Sponge in the Wedge. Explore the full Wedge area and hit each Sponge with a Splash.
- Moneybags (70 GS): Spend 100,000 Chips in the Shop. Buy consistently rather than hoarding, and this comes naturally by the time you hit Level 50.
- Fired and Inspired (50 GS): Collect 48 Pots. Between your own crafts and borrowed community Pots, this fills up during normal play.
- 'Scuse Me, Can I Borrow This? (50 GS): Add a Pot of each Archetype created by another player to your Collection. Requires active browsing of community Pots.
- Supreme Grandmaster (75 GS): Reach Level 50. The longest individual grind in the list.
