The Feiopar is Lethal Company's newest reason to dread the forest moons. Added in the v80 beta, this panther-like creature stalks employees through dense tree lines, waiting for the moment you stop paying attention. Unlike most threats that charge the moment they spot you, the Feiopar plays a patience game, and that makes it genuinely dangerous if you don't know the rules.

Where do Feiopars spawn in Lethal Company?

Feiopars only appear on the three forest moons: Adamance, March, and Vow. These moons sit at threat level C or B, which puts them below the nightmare-tier habitats full of Eyeless Dogs, Forest Keepers, and Old Birds. That lower threat rating can lull you into a false sense of security, which is exactly when a Feiopar punishes you.

Spawn rates are on the rarer side compared to creatures like the Tulip Snake or Giant Sapsucker, so you won't see one every run. Adamance is the exception, as it's the moon most likely to throw multiple species at you simultaneously. On March and Vow, Feiopars tend to appear solo, which is actually manageable once you understand how they think.

How does the Feiopar behave?

The Feiopar operates on a simple but effective loop. It uses the surrounding trees as cover, weaving between them to inch closer while staying out of your direct line of sight. You'll likely hear it before you see it: a low growl signals it's within roughly 5 meters of your position. If you miss the audio cue, watch for its glowing green eyes moving through the treeline.

Here's where it gets interesting. The Feiopar won't pounce if you're actively watching it, similar to how the Bracken functions. Direct, sustained eye contact reads as a threat, and the creature will back off. But the rules aren't identical to the Bracken's. Approaching it slowly, keeping it in your peripheral vision without directly facing it, or standing still nearby all register as weakness and function as an invitation to attack.

When it decides to retreat, it climbs the nearest tree and leaps from canopy to canopy until it loses you. Then the cycle resets: it slowly circles back, hiding behind trunks until it's close enough to strike. One more thing to know: if you're standing directly underneath a tree it's perched in, it will drop on you.

The Feiopar's only attack is a claw lunge. It's quick, it can kill you fast, and unlike the Sapsucker's extended assault, it doesn't give you much time to react once it triggers.

How do you survive a Feiopar encounter?

The core principle is counterintuitive: act aggressively, not defensively. Think of it like facing down a large predator in the wild. Backing away slowly or freezing signals vulnerability. Running directly at the Feiopar, shining a Flashlight straight at it, or walking toward it with purpose will force it to climb and flee every time.

Here's a practical breakdown of what works and what gets you killed:

Groups are a natural deterrent. The Feiopar actively targets isolated players who appear vulnerable. If you're running solo on March or Vow, stay moving and keep noise discipline up so you catch the growl early.

A few specific situations to keep in mind:

  • The Flashlight is one of your best tools. The Feiopar appears scared of direct light and won't enter the ship.
  • The ship roof is a trap. Camping on top of it when a Feiopar is active makes it aggressive and fast-moving. Stay off it.
  • After forcing a retreat, move in the opposite direction from where it climbed. That gap gives you a safe window to travel between the ship and the main entrance.
  • The Shovel works if you time it right: land 3 hits just before the creature starts climbing and you eliminate the pounce risk entirely.

The Feiopar rewards attentive players and punishes passive ones. Once you internalize that aggression is the correct response, it stops being a threat and starts being a manageable obstacle on otherwise profitable moons.
