Lower Manhattan map ...

The Deal Canceled achievement in Marvel Rivals sounds straightforward on paper, but the game gives you almost nothing to work with beyond a vague description. Two conditions have to line up at the same time, and both are outside your direct control. Once you know what to look for, though, it becomes a matter of playing well rather than playing blind.

What is the Deal Canceled achievement?

Deal Canceled requires you to prevent Kingpin from delivering the Tablet of Life and Time to the Gilded Saint on the Lower Manhattan map. According to Destructoid's guide, the full objective text you're working against reads: "Prevent Kingpin from Obtaining the Tablet of Life and Time and Foil the Prison Break." That message confirms you're on the right team and the right map at the same time.

The achievement sits in the map-specific category, meaning no other location counts. You cannot complete it on any other map, no matter what you do.

How to get the Deal Canceled achievement in Marvel Rivals

Three things need to happen in sequence. None of them are complicated, but two depend on the matchmaking system rather than your own choices.

Step 1: Get the Lower Manhattan map

The map rotation in Marvel Rivals is randomized each round. There is no way to manually select Lower Manhattan in standard play, so you're waiting on the game to assign it. Queue up, play your matches, and keep an eye on the loading screen. When Lower Manhattan appears, that's your window.

Step 2: Land on the defensive team

Team assignment is also random. When the character selection screen loads, check the upper left corner. If you see the message about preventing Kingpin from obtaining the Tablet of Life and Time and foiling the Prison Break, you're on defense. That's the side you need.

If you're assigned to offense instead, you can still play the match out, but the achievement won't trigger regardless of the outcome.

Step 3: Stop the convoy

Once you're on defense in Lower Manhattan, your entire job is to keep the convoy from reaching its destination. Work with your team, hold positions, and don't let the offensive side push the vehicle through. This is a standard escort-defense objective, so standard teamfight principles apply: stay grouped, contest the payload, and focus down threats near the convoy.

What happens when you complete Deal Canceled?

A successful defense triggers a specific Victory end scene. According to Destructoid, you'll see news articles announcing that Kingpin has stepped down, followed by Captain America breaking free and attacking Kingpin alongside Black Widow, Luna Snow, The Punisher, and Adam Warlock. That cinematic sequence is your confirmation the achievement has registered.

If the Victory screen plays without that specific scene, double-check that you were on the defensive side and that the convoy was stopped before reaching the end.

Tips for holding the defense on Lower Manhattan

Landing the right map and team assignment is the hard part. Winning the defense is the part you can actually prepare for.

  • Hold chokepoints near the convoy path. The offensive team needs the vehicle to move, so they'll cluster around it. Controlling the narrow sections of the route forces them to fight through you.
  • Pick heroes with strong area denial or crowd control. Slowing or stopping the convoy push buys your team time to regroup and re-engage.
  • Communicate with your team. Even basic callouts about where the convoy is being pushed from make a difference in organized defense.
  • Don't over-commit to flanks. Kills away from the convoy path don't slow the objective. Stay close enough to contest.

Once Deal Canceled is off your list, there are plenty of other map-specific achievements worth tracking down. Head over to our gaming guides hub for more Marvel Rivals coverage and achievement walkthroughs.
