Assassin's Creed Shadows just got a meaningful quality-of-life push across all platforms. Ubisoft dropped patch version 1.1.10 today, and the headliners are PSSR 2 upscaling support for PS5 Pro owners and full keyboard and mouse support for the Nintendo Switch 2 version of the game.

What PSSR 2 actually means for PS5 Pro players

PSSR 2 is Sony's latest AI-driven upscaling model for the PS5 Pro, and it claims sharper image reconstruction and better performance than the original PSSR. The tech has been rolling out across multiple titles over the past few weeks, and Assassin's Creed Shadows is now part of that wave. For players exploring the sweeping countryside and castle towns of feudal Japan as Naoe or Yasuke, the upgrade should translate to noticeably cleaner visuals, particularly in high-motion sequences and dense environments.

Here's the thing: PSSR 2 adoption has been picking up pace fast, and a game as visually demanding as Shadows is a good candidate to benefit from it. PS5 Pro owners who have been playing on the standard PS5 build will want to check their display settings after the update installs.

Switch 2 gets a proper PC-style control option

The Switch 2 addition is arguably the more interesting story for a lot of players. Keyboard and mouse support is now live for the Nintendo Switch 2 version, giving players a precision input option that most open-world action games on console simply don't offer. The patch notes frame it as a way to control Naoe and Yasuke with "precision and freedom," which is a reasonable pitch for anyone who prefers that setup for stealth navigation or combat.

Switch 2 keyboard and mouse support is still a relatively new capability for the platform, and Shadows picking it up this early puts it ahead of most titles in that respect.

Bo weapons and a stack of bug fixes

Beyond the platform-specific additions, patch 1.1.10 opens up Bo staff weapons to all players, not just those who purchased the Claws of Awaji expansion. Once you've earned at least one Unique Bo, non-legendary versions can drop from enemies, appear in chests, or show up at merchants. It's a small but welcome change that gives the base game more weapon variety.

The bug fix list is substantial. Key fixes include:

  • Gameplay: Enemies can now suffer up to 5 simultaneous afflictions. Fast travel points that were previously unavailable are now fixed.
  • UI: A persistent bug that locked total progression at 97.89% after completing all content has been resolved. The Detailed Stat Sheet now correctly displays capped and uncapped stats.
  • Weapons and perks: Yasuke's "Defensive Break Level 3" Samurai passive now correctly shows 150% damage (previously displayed as +50). The "Critical Insight" and "Hidden Onslaught" upgrades, both previously nonfunctional, are now working. The "Oni's Rage" Kanabo perk now correctly specifies it spreads 25% bleed buildup on kill.
  • Quests: Several mission-blocking issues fixed, including "Brothers In Arms" corpse looting and "The Winter Raiders" completion trigger.

Where Shadows goes from here

This patch lands as Shadows moves into what Ubisoft has described as its final phase of support. According to the official Ubisoft blog on the game's future, updates will become smaller and less frequent going forward. That makes 1.1.10 one of the more feature-rich patches the game is likely to receive at this stage, and PS5 Pro and Switch 2 owners in particular are getting meaningful upgrades out of it.
