The Flashpoint update for Arc Raiders has been quietly stacking up new content, and the Outstanding Balance quest is one of the more involved additions to land in the game recently. Developed by Embark Studios, Arc Raiders already had a solid run of missions tied to vendor Tian Wen, but this new quest extends that chain with a two-location chase across the Blue Gate map that will test your patience with both ARC units and opportunistic players.
What the Flashpoint update actually added
The Outstanding Balance quest drops players into a familiar conflict: a Raider named Dodger has reneged on a deal with Tian Wen, and it falls to you to track him down and collect the evidence. It sounds simple enough, but the quest is a deliverable mission, which is where most players hit a wall.
Here's the thing: if you die while carrying Dodger's Note, the entire quest resets. That single mechanic turns what could be a casual errand into a high-stakes extraction run, especially given where the quest takes you.
Two locations, one very bad fuse
The first stop is the Traffic Tunnel in the northern section of Blue Gate. The tunnel is already one of the more hostile areas on the map, populated with ground-based ARC units and a potential Bastion or Bombardier if the run is going badly. The Flashpoint update also introduced Shredders to this zone, which adds another layer of threat that players who have been away for a while will need to account for.
At the far right corner of the northwestern tunnel, you will find Dodger's Stash. Interacting with it blows a fuse, which means the job is only half done.
From there, the route heads northeast to Pilgrim's Peak, a tall antenna structure that requires a zipline to navigate. The key here is timing your jump before the zipline reaches the top platform. There is a hidden room just below the summit, tucked between two orange electrical machines, where Dodger's Bag and the Note are waiting. Once you have the Note, the nearest extraction point and Tian Wen are your final destination.

What you actually get for pulling this off
The reward set for completing Outstanding Balance is:
- 1x Gothic Graffiti (Aviator Colour) cosmetic
- 1x Extended Medium Mag III
- 1x Silencer II
The cosmetic unlocks in the Customisation section of the Raider tab. The mag and suppressor are practical enough to slot into most mid-game loadouts, making the quest worth running even for players who are not chasing cosmetics.
Completing Outstanding Balance also unlocks the follow-up mission Settled in Full, which requires players to take down a Bastion and deliver its Cell to clear the rest of Dodger's debt. That escalation is very much in line with how Tian Wen's quest chain has been structured since launch.
How this fits into the broader quest pipeline
The Flashpoint update has been adding quests that chain together in ways that reward players who stick with a single vendor's storyline. Outstanding Balance is a mid-chain mission, not a standalone, so players who have been working through Tian Wen's assignments will find it slots in naturally. Those jumping in fresh will want to confirm prerequisites are cleared before loading into Blue Gate expecting to trigger it.
