Season 3 of Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 and Warzone goes live on April 2, bringing a new battle pass, physical changes to the Warzone Avalon map, Black Ops 6 legacy weapons for Zombies, and a fresh season of Ranked Play across both modes. The official Call of Duty X account confirmed the date on March 23, alongside promo art teasing the season's new operator.
What the April 2 launch actually includes
The Season 3 update goes live at 9 AM PT / 12 PM ET / 5 PM BST across all platforms, which is the standard Call of Duty rollout window. Alongside the battle pass, players can expect new DLC weapons, additional multiplayer maps, new game modes, and limited-time events. Given the timing, Activision will almost certainly run an Easter-themed event, consistent with what they've done in previous years.
The season's promo art introduces a new operator called "Javelin," who appears to be carrying the M27 assault rifle from Black Ops 2. Key art for CoD seasons typically previews the operators and weapons that ship with the battle pass, so the M27 looks like a safe bet for the Season 3 weapon pool.

Season 3 also kicks off a new Ranked Play season for both Black Ops 7 multiplayer and Warzone, with fresh rewards tied to each.Zombies gets Black Ops 6 weapons, new map coming mid-season
Here's the thing about the Zombies roadmap: Treyarch confirmed three new maps are still planned, but none of them will drop at season launch. Going forward, all new Zombies maps will arrive with midseason "Reloaded" updates instead of at the start of a season.
What Season 3 does bring to Zombies is a set of Black Ops 6 legacy weapons, teased on the official CoD Pod podcast as arriving "in a pretty unique way." The phrasing strongly suggests these guns won't slot into custom loadouts. Players will likely need to earn them through new challenges or specific in-game actions, which is a different approach to weapon unlocks than the mode has used recently.
Avalon is getting drained and expanded for battle royale
Warzone players are getting the most concrete changes of anyone this season. Activision confirmed physical alterations to the Avalon map, with water being drained around multiple islands to expose sandbars and create new walkable pathways between areas. Additional ziplines and boats are also being added to improve traversal across the map.
The CoD Pod podcast also confirmed that Ranked Play Resurgence will introduce map rotation in Season 3. Competitive players will rotate between Haven's Hollow and Rebirth Island, giving ranked a bit more variety than the single-map grind it's been.

Campaign Endgame and what's still unconfirmed
Treyarch also confirmed new content is coming to the campaign's Endgame mode in Season 3. The specifics are still under wraps, but recent seasons added boss fights, public events, and new operator skills to the mode, so expect more of the same direction.
Multiplayer details are the one area that remains thin. No specific maps or modes have been announced yet, though a standard season drop typically means at least a handful of new maps and a new limited-time mode at launch. Expect a full content reveal closer to April 2.
