Season 4 is live in Call of Duty: Black Ops 7, and the meta has shifted. Two new weapons dropped through the battle pass, new attachments are in the mix, and the Gunsmith is already filling up with builds worth copying. Whether you're grinding ranked or just trying to stop getting stomped in pubs, these are the loadouts that are pulling weight right now.
Here's the lowdown on how build codes work if you haven't used them yet. Black Ops 7's Gunsmith generates a unique alphanumeric code for every weapon configuration you put together. To import one, press L3 while in the Gunsmith to bring up the import option. Every build below includes its code, so you can skip the manual setup entirely.

The assault rifle tier is stacked this season
The Voyak KT-3 is the standout AR right now. Low base recoil makes it forgiving, and the right attachment stack pushes it into genuinely oppressive territory at mid-range. The recommended build runs the Fang Hoverpoint ELO optic, SWF Tishina-11 muzzle, 20" Danko Barrel, Vas Convergence Foregrip on the underbarrel, and Buffer Springs as the ammo mod. Build code: A09-34FK5-7GZ55-51.
The MXR-17 tells a different story. It kills faster than the Voyak KT-3 on paper, but the recoil is punishing without the right setup. The build that fixes this pairs the Redwell Shade-X Suppressor, Vas Convergence Foregrip, Rhodes Drum Mag, Aria Assail Grip, and Recoil Sync Unit. That last attachment is doing a lot of the heavy lifting here. Build code: A03-9LQPK-8F51.
Season 4's new weapons and where they fit
The KRS-7.62 is one of the two Season 4 additions and it slots into the marksman rifle category as a semi-auto option for mid-to-long-range play. The base gun has kick, but the Fang Hoverpoint ELO, Redwell Shade-X Suppressor, Satiate Extended Mag, VAS Mettle Riser comb, and Cheval Gallant Stock turn it into a controlled, consistent threat. Build code: M07-2TKE6-G6PL5-11.
The CBRS-3 is the other new arrival, an SMG that performs better in multiplayer than in Warzone. Its default damage range is underwhelming, but the 15" Redwell Parlay Barrel and Redwell Shade-X Suppressor combination addresses that directly. Round it out with the Sapper Guard Handstop, MFS Carousel Fast Mag, and Ante Grip. Build code: S15-6X1FS-HH11.
Close-range and sniper options worth knowing
The Carbon 57 has been a reliable SMG pick and Season 4 hasn't changed that. The build focuses on recoil reduction and extending its effective range, which is normally the SMG's biggest weakness. K&S Compensator, 14" Rockleigh Barrel, VAS Convergence Foregrip, Carbon 75 Fabricator Mag, and Bombus Quick Grip cover all the bases. Build code: S05-9LJFA-ZK11.
For snipers, the Hawker HX is the pick. What separates it from other options is mobility. The build with the SWF Tishina-11, MFS 25" Votive Barrel, Auroral Light Grip, 1MW Instinct Laser, and Light Bolt fire mod keeps ADS speed and rechamber speed high enough to compete in faster-paced lobbies. Build code: R05-694TP-PZJ11.
What this means for players heading into Season 4 is a genuine choice between playstyles rather than one dominant meta pick. The Voyak KT-3 and MXR-17 cover different AR niches, the two new weapons each have a clear role, and the sniper and SMG options are both competitive. That's a healthier spread than most seasons deliver at launch.
