Sanctum of Absolution ...

The Sanctum of Revelation is quietly one of Crimson Desert's more demanding Exploration Challenges, and players who stumble in unprepared are going to feel it. Located in the Demeniss region just north of the Bamboo Forest, this sanctum combines a wave-clearing phase, a genuinely fast boss encounter, and an environmental puzzle that trips up more players than the combat does.

Before you even walk through the door

Here's the thing: the Sanctum of Revelation is locked behind a prerequisite most players miss. You need to have listened to the request from Areciel, the Witch of Strength, before the sanctum will fully activate. If you have not tracked down Areciel yet, the official Crimson Desert site has the latest news on content and updates, but for witch locations specifically, you will want to consult the in-game map markers or a dedicated witch location guide.

Skipping that step means you can clear the entire sanctum and still not get credit. Sort out Areciel first.

Clearing the Antumbra infestation

Approach from the south side. The sanctum is packed with Antumbra enemies, and your job is to fight through them until the liberation percentage hits 0%. There is no shortcut here. Work through the area methodically, and once the minor enemies are down, head into the fogged section of the sanctum.

That is where Antumbra's Spear is waiting.

This boss is fast. Genuinely fast. The key here is recognizing which attacks need to be dodged and which can be parried. Magic-based attacks cannot be blocked, so dodge those without hesitation. Normal attacks, on the other hand, are parry opportunities. Landing parries and following up with heavy attacks builds the meter beneath his health bar, which is your main damage window. Fill that meter, punish hard, repeat.

warning

Do not try to tank Antumbra's Spear's magic attacks. They will punish you hard regardless of your defense stats. Prioritize movement over aggression until you have the attack patterns read.

The pillar puzzle that trips everyone up

Once the sanctum is liberated, you spawn in the boss courtyard. Head west and find the standalone building just outside the ruins. It has a collapsible roof. Step on it to break through, drop inside, and grab the pillar piece you find there.

Bring it back to the device and find the broken pillar in the west corner. Place the piece above it and rotate until leaves appear around it, which signals the correct orientation. Then climb on top and use a jumping Force Palm (jump and R3 on controller, or Mouse Wheel on PC) to lock it into place.

From the device, look directly east. You will spot a block sitting on a ledge above you. Grab it, carry it to the hole on the north side of the device, and align it until the leaves indicator appears again. Use Force Palm (R3 or TAB on PC) to push it into position.

Getting Areciel to show up

After completing the puzzle, Areciel should appear automatically. If she does not, walk toward the square of lights on the ground. That usually triggers her arrival. The sanctum completion registers once she appears and the interaction concludes.

The Sanctum of Revelation is one of 16 sanctums in Crimson Desert, each tied to Exploration Challenges that feed into the broader completion picture. Players hunting full clears will want to track these carefully.
