Spire of Insight puzzle walkthrough in ...

The Spire of Insight is one of those Crimson Desertlandmarks that looks impressive from a distance and immediately punishes you for walking through the front door unprepared. The tower, located southeast of Glenbright Manor and south of Pororin near the Steel Mountains, houses four separate riddles across its floors, each one gating progress toward an abyss gate at the top.

Solving the whole thing rewards access to the Chaos Forest puzzle, making the Spire one of the more consequential exploration stops in Pearl Abyss's open world. The game sold 2 million copies in under 24 hours after launch, so a lot of players are going to hit this tower sooner or later.

Getting past the front door

Before any riddle-solving happens, there are two obstacles at the entrance. A group of fundamentalist goblins has taken up residence around the tower, and the front door is blocked by thorns. Clear the goblins first, then use Blinding Flash (activated with LB/L1 + RB/R1 on controller, or Ctrl + left-click on keyboard) to burn through the vines by focusing the light beam onto them.

The door itself has an inscription: "When the bones of the earth awaken from their long silence and find their place, time begins to flow once more." The answer is simpler than it sounds. Find a small pebble on the ground nearby and place it in the bowl on the door. That unlocks the tower.

What the first floor is actually asking

Once inside, a giant book sits at the far end of the room with a large bowl in front of it. The clue reads: "Even after many years have passed, the traces left behind revive forgotten tales."

The book contains an image of a gravestone, and that's your answer. A gravestone sits on a desk just to the right of the platform. Pick it up, place it in the bowl, and stay on the platform as it rises to the second floor.

Two items, one floor

The second floor clue is: "Records filled with wisdom guide us to the past, while tools that look to distant places illuminate the future." This one requires two objects.

To the right of the platform, a miniature telescope sits on a table. That covers the "tools that look to distant places" half. For the other item, head in the opposite direction to a small side room filled with knick-knacks. On the table near the window, there's a pen tip, the writing instrument that creates the records the clue references. Both items go into the bowl before the platform moves again.

The third floor and the final climb

The top riddle is the most item-heavy: "The dance of the heavens, the turning of the Earth, and the march of time all point to a single truth." Three items are needed here.

  • A small map rotator (resembling a mini-globe) sits on the bookshelf to the right of the platform
  • A celestial and a gold bar recipe are tucked in the gap between bookshelves to the left of the globe
  • A sundial rests on the bookshelf along the northern wall

All three go into the bowl. The platform then carries you to the top of the Spire, where the abyss gate to the Chaos Forest is waiting.

Why this tower is worth the detour

The Spire of Insight follows the same riddle-and-bowl structure seen in other Crimson Desert puzzle locations, but the four-floor format makes it one of the longer puzzle sequences in the game. Each clue leans on the images in the giant book rather than pure wordplay, which means paying attention to the illustrations does most of the heavy lifting.

Here's the thing: the Spire sits in a part of the map that players often pass through on the way to other objectives. Missing it means missing a direct route into the Chaos Forest Abyss, one of the game's more involved side areas.
