Death Stranding 2 PC Release Set for March 19

Death Stranding 2: On the Beach is set to launch on PC on March 19, following its release on PlayStation 5. The port is being handled by Nixxes, working alongside Kojima Productions, and aims to deliver the same high-quality visuals and cinematic experience that made the console version notable. The PC edition will offer a wide range of graphics settings to accommodate both budget and high-end gaming systems.

System Requirements and Performance Options

The PC version of Death Stranding 2 provides graphics presets ranging from Low to Very High, as well as a Portable preset designed for handheld devices. These presets are intended to allow players to adjust performance according to their hardware. The Low preset targets 1080p at 30 frames per second on entry-level GPUs such as the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1660 or AMD Radeon RX 5500 XT, while Very High aims for 4K at 60 frames per second on high-end GPUs like the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4080 or AMD Radeon RX 9070 XT. Across all presets, the game requires 16GB of RAM, Windows 10 or 11 (version 1909 or newer), and a 150GB SSD. CPU recommendations scale with the graphics preset, from Intel Core i3 or AMD Ryzen 3 at the minimum to Intel Core i7 or AMD Ryzen 7 for the highest settings.

To further improve performance, the PC edition supports multiple upscaling and frame generation technologies. NVIDIA DLSS 4, AMD FSR 4, and Intel XESS 2 are all available and can be used with Dynamic Resolution Scaling or set to a preferred quality level. Additionally, the game introduces Pico (Progressive Image Compositor) on PC, the same upscaling system used in the PlayStation 5 version. Pico can be combined with other frame generation options to deliver smoother performance across a wide range of hardware. Native anti-aliasing settings are also included to maximize visual fidelity.

Ultrawide and Widescreen Display Support

Death Stranding 2 for PC includes robust support for ultrawide monitors. All cutscenes are designed to display correctly in a 21:9 aspect ratio, and gameplay can extend to fill a 32:9 screen when available. Players without an ultrawide monitor can still enable widescreen aspect ratios on high-resolution 16:9 displays, broadening the field of view. A corresponding update for PS5 will introduce 21:9 ultrawide support at the same time as the PC release.

PlayStation-Inspired Rewards for Porters

With the PC release, PlayStation-themed cosmetic items will be available as part of the game. The previously announced Porter Suit and Patch, inspired by the PlayStation logo, will be granted to PS5 players via an update. PC players who link their PlayStation account will also gain access to these items, providing a small crossover reward for those who have already played the console version.

Availability and Pre-Purchase

Death Stranding 2: On the Beach is available for pre-purchase on Steam and the Epic Games Store. Players who pre-order the game will be ready to experience the full range of visual and performance options as soon as the game launches on March 19.
