AdHob Studio'sDispatchis finally making its way to Xbox. Announced during the Xbox Partner Preview broadcast on March 26, the superhero comedy is headed to Xbox Series X/S, Xbox on PC, and Xbox Cloud this summer, and it'll launch as an Xbox Play Anywhere title.

The last platform gap finally closes

Dispatch launched in 2025 and has been available on PC and PlayStation since then, with a Nintendo Switch version arriving a bit later. Xbox was the one major platform still missing from that list. That changes this summer.

The Play Anywhere designation means a single purchase covers both Xbox console and Windows PC, with save data carrying across both. For anyone who splits time between a gaming PC and an Xbox, that's a genuine convenience.

What Dispatch actually is

Here's the thing: if you haven't heard of Dispatch yet, the premise is one of the better setups in recent indie gaming. You play as Robert Robertson, voiced by Breaking Bad's Aaron Paul, a former superhero whose career ended badly. He picks up work as a dispatcher, which means managing a chaotic roster of misfit heroes from behind a headset instead of on the front lines.

The comedy lands consistently, the writing is sharp, and the game carries a lot of genuine heart underneath the jokes. Eurogamer placed it fifth in their top 50 games of 2025, which gives you a sense of how it was received by people who played it at launch.

Play Anywhere and what it means in practice

For Xbox players specifically, the Play Anywhere pricing and platform details confirm the release covers Xbox Series X/S, Xbox on PC, and Xbox Cloud Gaming. That last option is worth flagging: Cloud Gaming support means you can play Dispatch on devices that wouldn't normally run it, including mobile, without needing the hardware at all.

No exact release date within the summer window has been confirmed yet, but the announcement came directly from AdHob Studio during the Xbox Partner Preview, so the timeline appears firm.

A good time to catch up

For Xbox players who sat out the initial release, the wait is almost over. Dispatch is the kind of game that tends to reward going in without too much prior knowledge, so if you've managed to avoid spoilers this long, you're in a good spot. Make sure to check out more:
