Tom Clancy's The Division Resurgence - IGN

The Division Resurgence is almost here. Ubisoft's free-to-play mobile shooter lands on March 31 for both iOS and Android, bringing the series back to the streets of New York City. The official launch date has been confirmed, and now it comes down to one question: what time does it unlock where you are?

Two separate unlock windows, not one global drop

Here's the thing: Resurgence is not doing a single global release. Ubisoft is rolling it out in two separate windows, with Asia-Pacific regions going first.

Asia-Pacific unlocks at 7 a.m. UTC on March 31. The rest of the world follows four hours later at 11 a.m. UTC. That gap matters if you're in a region on the boundary between the two windows.

Rest of World (11 a.m. UTC, March 31)

North American players are getting the rougher end of this deal. A 4 a.m. PDT unlock on a Tuesday is not exactly prime time, but it does mean the servers should be reasonably settled by the time most people wake up.

What you're actually downloading on day one

The Division Resurgence cannot be preloaded, but you can already "get" it on the App Store or Google Play so it downloads automatically the moment the game goes live. No need to remember to tap download at 4 a.m.

Content-wise, the game is positioned as a proper entry in the franchise rather than a stripped-down spin-off. Ubisoft describes it as a "AAA experience" with a new PvE campaign that fills in story context between The Division 1 and 2, set across a massive open-world New York City. The Dark Zone returns as the PvP sandbox, with the highest-tier loot locked behind its chaotic extraction loop.

The key here is that this is free-to-play, so the barrier to entry is zero. Whether the monetization sits comfortably or starts to grind against the experience is something the community will be stress-testing hard in the first few days.
