Dragon Quest I & II HD-2D Remake for Nintendo Switch is down to $40.98 on Amazon, just $1 above its lowest recorded price. That's a 32% discount from the $59.99 list price. Two rebuilt JRPG classics with Square Enix's HD-2D visual style for that price is a straightforward value.
Why the Dragon Quest deal matters
The HD-2D approach transforms these games. Square Enix rebuilt two foundational JRPGs with the same layered pixel-art-and-3D-lighting technique that made Octopath Traveler stand out. The turn-based combat remains unchanged, but both titles include new content that wasn't present in the original versions. At $41, the package delivers significant replay value and a visual refresh that holds up.
This price sits near the floor. If you've been waiting, now is the time.
