FIRE! 2 for Nintendo Switch ...

Publisher tinyBuild and developer Casey Donnellan Games have officially confirmed that Kill It With Fire 2 is coming to Nintendo Switch on May 7. The first-person bug extermination game has been available on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam, and Switch owners are finally getting their turn to torch some arachnids.

A multiverse-sized spider problem

The premise of Kill It With Fire 2 is exactly as unhinged as it sounds. You play as the Exterminator, a one-person crusade against a spider horde that has somehow taken over the multiverse. Seven distinct worlds serve as your hunting grounds, ranging from a mysterious manor to a Wild West town, cyberspace, and something called Spider Hell. The key here is variety: no two levels play the same, and the game leans hard into that chaos.

The story campaign supports online co-op for up to 4 players, so you can drag three friends into the madness. There is also a Humans vs. Spiders PvP mode for when co-op is not enough.

45 weapons and no chill

Here is the thing about Kill It With Fire 2's arsenal: it runs the full spectrum from absurd to more absurd. The 45 weapons and gadgets on offer include a rolled-up newspaper at one end and a rocket launcher and laser sword at the other. The minigun sits somewhere in the middle of that scale, which tells you everything about the game's tone.

The challenge system pushes things further. Brew potions in a cauldron, stomp a megapolis as a kaiju-sized exterminator, defend a saloon from spider waves, or win a drone race in virtual reality. These are not optional side activities thrown in as padding. They are the point.

Playing as the spider

What most players miss in the initial announcement is the Spider Hunt mode. Beyond the standard PvP option, the game includes an 8-player online mode where some players control actual spiders against human exterminators. It flips the dynamic entirely and adds a layer of replayability that goes beyond the campaign.

This is the kind of feature that keeps a game alive in multiplayer long after the story is done.

Switch joins the extermination effort

Kill It With Fire 2 on Switch means the full experience, co-op and PvP included, comes to a portable platform. For a game built around short, high-energy sessions of bug-blasting mayhem, handheld play is a natural fit. The May 7 release date puts it just under a month away, with no Switch-specific limitations mentioned in the announcement.

The original Kill It With Fire launched on Switch back in 2021 and found a solid audience there, so the sequel following suit makes sense. You'll want to keep an eye on the Nintendo eShop listing as the date approaches for any pre-order details. Make sure to check out more:
