The Knights of Doom are officially joining the roster of Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls, with the team of Magneto, Green Goblin, and Carnage confirmed during Sony's June 2026 State of Play alongside a brand new trailer.
Three villains, one very nasty team
Of the three, Carnage was the one fans had been piecing together from prior teasers. Magneto and Green Goblin were genuine surprises. Putting those two alongside the symbiote is a smart move from a design standpoint. You've got a magnetic powerhouse, a gadget-throwing maniac, and a living weapon made of alien goo. That's a team with serious stylistic range, which matters a lot in fighting games where team composition drives how matches play out.
The story framing for Marvel Tōkon has all five teams fighting to protect their worlds from The Champion, an Elder of the Universe who forces worthy challengers into combat under threat of planetary destruction. It's a setup that gives each team a clear reason to throw hands, and it keeps the tone leaning into classic Marvel cosmic weirdness rather than anything too grounded.

Four teams down, one still forming
With the Knights of Doom confirmed, four of the five teams in the game's 20-character roster are now locked in:
The fifth team remains incomplete, though Ghost Rider appears to be its leader based on earlier reveals. Community speculation is pointing toward a Midnight Suns-style lineup for that final slot, which would make Ghost Rider a natural fit.
Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls launches August 6, 2026. More character reveals are expected before then to complete the full roster.

What the Knights of Doom reveal means for the roster
Here's the thing: the villain-heavy team angle is exactly what a game like this needs. Every prior reveal leaned toward heroes, so having a full squad of antagonists as a playable unit shifts the dynamic. Players who want to run a pure villain lineup now have a coherent option, and the mix of long-range control (Magneto), aerial pressure (Green Goblin), and aggressive close-quarters chaos (Carnage) suggests the team was built with actual matchup variety in mind rather than just brand recognition.
The August 6 release date is holding firm, and with one team still to be fully announced, there are at least a few more character reveals coming before launch. If you want to track everything as it drops, the Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls guides page will be the place to check once the game is out and players start breaking down how each team actually plays.
