Season 3 of Black Ops 7 is bringing a new assault rifle into the mix, and based on what Activision has shared about it, the MK35 ISR has the stats to shake up the AR meta from day one.
What the MK35 ISR actually brings to the table
Activision describes the MK35 ISR as having the lowest recoil in its AR class, paired with a fast fire rate. That combination alone makes it worth paying attention to. Staying on target through sustained fire is where most ARs start to fall apart, and if this one genuinely delivers on that stat, medium-to-long range engagements become a lot more forgiving.
The tradeoffs are real, though. The MK35 ISR deals slightly less damage than other ARs and has slower handling, which means it rewards patience and positioning over aggressive, close-range plays. Think of it less as a rushing tool and more as a weapon for players who like to hold angles and punish enemies who peek.
It also ships with clean iron sights out of the box, which is a meaningful advantage. That attachment slot you would normally spend on an optic can go toward something that actually improves performance.
The Prestige Attachment worth knowing about
The MK35 ISR's Prestige Attachment is the 19" MFS Nightfall Suppressed Barrel. It does three things at once: extends effective damage range, keeps you off enemy radar while firing, and tightens hipfire spread. Getting a suppressor and a barrel upgrade in a single attachment slot is a strong value proposition, and it pushes the weapon further into that long-range, stay-quiet playstyle.

The 19" MFS Nightfall Suppressed Barrel is the Prestige Attachment for the MK35 ISR. Prioritize unlocking it if you plan to run this AR at range in Warzone, where staying off the minimap matters most.
How the Season 3 Battle Pass unlock works
The MK35 ISR is available through the free tiers of the Season 3 Battle Pass, sitting as the High-Value Target reward on Page 3. You will need to work through the earlier pages first by spending BP tokens, but the premium pass is not required. Put in the time, and the weapon is yours at no extra cost.
For players who own the BlackCell Battle Pass upgrade, there is an option to skip directly to Page 3. That said, Page 12 is worth the detour since it holds the "Saku" weapon blueprint for the MK35 ISR, which comes with a preset build.
Activision may also drop a store bundle at season launch with a separate MK35 ISR blueprint. Buying it grants immediate access to the base weapon, though you will still need to level it up to unlock attachments beyond the preset loadout.
Prestige camos available for the MK35 ISR
Once you have the weapon, there are three Prestige Camos to chase:
All three are universal camos, meaning you can apply them to other weapons in your arsenal once unlocked. The animated Glitch camo at Prestige Max is the obvious target for dedicated grinders.
Why this AR has meta potential
The MK35 ISR reads like a spiritual successor to the M27 from Black Ops 2, a weapon that built a loyal following around its consistency and ease of use. Low recoil ARs tend to find their way into meta discussions quickly because they lower the skill floor for landing shots at range, which matters in both Warzone and BO7 Multiplayer.
The key here is how the weapon holds up once players start experimenting with attachments beyond the Prestige Barrel. If the base recoil profile is as clean as described, the MK35 ISR could become a reliable pick across Hardpoint, Domination, and Warzone contracts alike.
