Game studio Mystic Moose has partnered with Amazon Prime Gaming to bring their Web3 game, Mojo Melee, to Prime members through a six-month promotion. The game blends deck-building mechanics with autochess gameplay, creating a fresh spin on both genres.
Prime members get monthly drops of in-game items — Spellstones, currency packs, champions, and skins. These digital collectibles exist as NFTs and can be used in future Planet Mojo games or traded on open marketplaces.
The development team includes veterans from LucasArts, Electronic Arts, and Activision. Their goal with Mojo Melee was to make autochess more approachable while keeping the strategic depth that rewards experience.
Standard autochess games give both players access to the same unit pool. Mojo Melee breaks from this by letting players build custom teams before battle, adding a deck-building layer that changes how matches play out.
The Prime Gaming promotion also includes "Mod-able" Mojos — 3D digital collectibles players can customize for unique in-game looks and on-chain appearances. Mojos are plant-based creatures from Planet Mojo, split into four subclasses: Moss, Leaf, Flower, and Vine. Each subclass has different abilities for healing, buffing, and boosting your champions, opening up different strategic options.
Mystic Moose CEO Mike Levine highlighted the Prime Gaming partnership as a way to introduce more players to Web3 gaming assets.
Planet Mojo is Mystic Moose's interconnected Web3 game ecosystem set on an alien planet. Players compete in esports and PvP matches using customized teams of fantasy creatures. The platform gives players ownership of in-game assets and a say in the project's development.
The Amazon Prime Gaming deal marks a push toward mainstream adoption for Web3 gaming, bringing blockchain-based games to a significantly larger audience.
Mojo Melee is playable now on desktop browsers and is in Open Beta for Android devices.
