Mortal Kombat Legacy Kollection review ...

Digital Eclipse has pushed out another patch for Mortal Kombat: Legacy Kollection, and this one is a meaty one. Version 1.0.5, dated 25th March 2026, lands on Switch and Switch 2 with a list of fixes that touches online play, Training Mode, move list accuracy, and a handful of long-standing visual bugs.

Here's the lowdown: the collection launched back in October in a state that left a lot of players frustrated. Digital Eclipse has been chipping away at it since, and 1.0.5 feels like the most substantial patch yet in terms of breadth.

Online play finally gets room codes

The headline addition is room code support in Online Arcade. Players can now generate and share codes to pull specific friends into a session, which is the kind of basic feature that should have been there at launch. Alongside that, there's a new option to filter matchmaking based on connection strength, so you're not getting paired with someone on the other side of the planet every other match.

Those two changes alone make the online side of the collection noticeably more usable.

Training Mode gets a proper reset tool

For players grinding fatalities or working through combo routes, Training Mode now supports a position reset by pressing the rewind button. The Versus screen also gets skipped entirely when loading into Training and Fatality Training, which cuts out a few unnecessary seconds every time you restart a session.

The volume levels in some Training Modes have also been adjusted, which was a minor but persistent annoyance for anyone who had the collection as their primary way back into classic MK.

Move lists, fatalities, and platform-specific fixes

The patch addresses move and combo list accuracy across the board, with particular attention paid to UMK3 and MK Trilogy. The Mercy move input now appears in the on-screen move list, which is genuinely useful for players who haven't memorized the input. Fatality fixes land for MK4, and Friendship and Babality detection has been corrected for MKII on Genesis and 32X.

Brutality behavior for certain characters in SNES UMK3 and MK Trilogy has also been cleaned up.

On the content side, MK attract mode bio videos and MK4 character ending videos have been added to the Kombatants section. "Marble" screen bezels are now available, and PC players get new Stretch Screen options. A music loop bug in Arcade MKII tied to The Dead Pool secret fatality with Unlimited Fatality Timer has been squashed.
