PlaySide and Fumi Games dropped the first patch for Mouse: P.I. For Hire on Nintendo Switch 2 on June 2, 2026. Version 1.0.6 addresses a solid list of crashes, progression blockers, and audio issues that players had been running into since launch.
Here's the thing though: this patch is just the warm-up act. The developers have already confirmed a larger update is coming, one that will bring quality of life improvements, further bug fixes, and, most importantly, performance and optimization work specifically for Switch 2. For a game built around its distinctive rubber-hose animation style and fast-paced shooter gameplay, getting that performance pass right matters.

Curdsville blocker now resolved
What version 1.0.6 actually fixes
The patch covers a wide spread of issues. A crash tied to setting the game language to Traditional Chinese, both at startup and through in-game settings, has been resolved. A black screen bug in 'The Reel Deal' that could block progress when lens distortion was disabled is gone. Enemy pathfinding in the 'Quagmire' level has been improved to stop enemies from snagging on doors and geometry and potentially locking players out of progression.
Several specific levels got targeted fixes. 'Mouseburg Opera' had a collision issue in the mini-boss arena that could trap players in the environment. 'Far Wetlands' had a logic error where the 'No Entry Yet' door would fail to open even after clearing all enemies. A blocker in 'Curdsville' was preventing some players from advancing at all.
Side quest reliability also got attention. The NPC from 'Friends in Deep Places' was going missing in 'Fart Harbor,' the quest item from 'Slugs in the Shell' wasn't appearing correctly, and blueprints for the 'Blueprint, please' side quest couldn't be collected in some cases. All three are patched in 1.0.6.
The 1.0.6 patch also adds an option to opt out of data and analytics tracking directly in the Settings Menu, not just during the initial onboarding flow.
On the audio side, the corrupted and glitchy sound effects on settings sliders, the weapon wheel, and other menu items have been cleaned up. The game over music track now correctly respects the 'Toggle Licensed Music' setting when it's switched off.
Two other fixes worth flagging: weapon scaling damage was persisting across game sessions (now corrected), and players were getting stuck in a loop when trying to accept controller rebindings. Both are resolved.

Audio bugs patched in 1.0.6
The bigger picture: performance work is next
The 1.0.6 notes are thorough, but the more interesting signal is what PlaySide and Fumi Games flagged as coming next. Performance and optimization improvements for Switch 2 are explicitly on the roadmap, which suggests the current build isn't running at the level the developers want it to.
For a shooter game that asks players to move fast, shoot faster, and navigate dense environments built on that distinctive 1930s cartoon animation style, frame pacing and stability aren't optional extras. They're the difference between the game feeling right and feeling off.
If you've been holding off or want to get the most out of the current build while waiting for that larger patch, the Mouse: P.I. For Hire guides collection has walkthroughs and collectible guides to keep you moving through the game without hitting the remaining rough edges.
