The open internet is becoming a larger part of the game distribution landscape, and Playgama is giving developers another way to take advantage of it. The company has launched Playgama Wrap, a free service that turns an HTML5 game into a standalone website with its own domain and built-in monetization tools.
Playgama Wrap is now publicly available to developers following an initial rollout that included Hazmob, StoreRider, HG Point, and Tridy Games. According to Playgama, the first games using the infrastructure are already seeing improvements in session time, player retention, and revenue per user compared with some established distribution channels.
The launch completes Playgama's infrastructure for developers looking to publish games directly through standalone websites. The company's tools now cover publishing, monetization, player acquisition, analytics, and growth, giving developers a way to operate a dedicated game website without relying entirely on traditional game stores or web portals.
Playgama Wrap Gives Developers Their Own Game Websites
Playgama Wrap is designed to make publishing an HTML5 game on its own domain relatively straightforward. Developers need to integrate the open-source Playgama Bridge SDK, upload their game, and then configure and publish it through the Playgama Developer Dashboard.
Once published, updates are synchronized automatically. Developers are responsible for purchasing their own domain, which means they retain ownership of the website and its associated brand.
The service supports mobile and PC games that can be adapted to HTML5, although Playgama says it is particularly suited to games that already operate across multiple platforms and ecosystems. Standalone websites can also be promoted through a variety of user acquisition channels, including web, mobile, and social platforms.
The websites include several features that developers would otherwise need to build or integrate separately. These include player-ready user interfaces, in-game purchases, search engine optimization, game analytics, monetization, and user acquisition tools.
Playgama says this gives developers another distribution channel while allowing them to build a direct relationship with players.
"The industry has shifted again, and games on standalone domains have grown into a segment of their own," said Dmitry Kachmar, Founder of Playgama. "We see midcore projects, social live-service games, and a large share of revenue coming from in-game purchases."
Kachmar added that developers are increasingly looking for ways to reduce their dependence on platform-driven discovery and algorithms, positioning the open internet as another opportunity for game distribution.
Playgama Ad Adds Monetization and Player Acquisition
Playgama Wrap is one part of the company's broader infrastructure for web games. Playgama Ad, which launched publicly earlier in 2026, provides advertising and player acquisition capabilities through the Playgama ad network.
The company says Playgama Ad is intended to bring monetization for standalone HTML5 games closer to the standards found in mobile gaming. Combined with Wrap, developers can host a game on their own website while using Playgama's tools to generate revenue and attract new players.
The approach also gives developers access to a large potential audience. Playgama estimates that the global web gaming audience includes around 500 million monthly players.
For developers, the model provides an alternative to distributing games exclusively through established web portals, mobile storefronts, or PC platforms.
Hazmob FPS Is Already Drawing 120,000 Monthly Visits
Hazmob is one of the first developers to use Playgama Wrap at scale. Three months after launching Hazmob FPS on its own domain, the game is reportedly receiving around 120,000 visits per month, according to Playgama's data.
Playgama says the standalone website is already generating revenue comparable to many of the web portals where Hazmob FPS is distributed. The company expects the channel to grow several times over the next six to 12 months.
For Hazmob founder Ozgur Hazar, ownership of the channel is one of the main advantages.
"With Playgama, our standalone site went from an experiment to one of our most promising channels," Hazar said. "What matters more is that it is ours: the traffic, the brand, the monetization setup."
The example highlights one of the primary differences between a standalone game website and a traditional distribution platform. Developers can still use external channels to attract players, but the resulting destination and brand remain under their control.
Playgama Wrap Is Rolling Out to Developers
Playgama Wrap is being distributed through the Playgama Developer Dashboard, with access gradually expanding to developers over the coming weeks. The first developers received access on August 21.
The service is part of Playgama's broader push to make the open web a viable distribution and monetization channel for games. The company says more than 4,000 game developers currently use its services, while its Playgama Bridge SDK has a network reach of more than 450 million monthly players across different platforms and ecosystems.
Founded in 2023, Playgama raised $3 million in venture funding in 2024. The company was a finalist at the PocketGamer Mobile Games Awards and MENA Games Industry Awards in 2025, and was named to Deloitte's Technology Fast 50 Rising Star list in 2026.
With Playgama Wrap, the company is now giving developers another option for distributing HTML5 games while retaining greater control over their websites, audiences, branding, and monetization.
