Free items are sitting unclaimed in Pokémon Pokopia right now, and the window to grab some of them won't stay open forever. The game's Mystery Gift system is live with two active rewards, one of which requires a specific code and another that just needs an internet connection.
Pokémon Pokopia is The Pokémon Company's first slow-paced life simulation entry in the franchise, and it sold over 2.2 million copies on Nintendo Switch 2 within its first four days. With that kind of player base, it's worth knowing exactly what free rewards are on the table before the codes expire.
What's currently available
There are two active Mystery Gifts right now:
The Ditto Rug is the more forgiving of the two since it doesn't require a code and stays active until January 2027. The Chansey Plant, on the other hand, needs the code P0K0P1AGARDENS and expires on October 7, 2026. You'll want to grab that one before it moves to the expired pile.
danger
Note the code uses zeros, not the letter O. P0K0P1AGARDENS has a zero in the second and fourth positions, and a number one before GARDENS. Double-check before entering. How the Mystery Gift system actually works
Here's the thing: you can't access Mystery Gifts from the very start of the game. The feature only unlocks after you've cleared the tutorial, set up your first PC at a Pokémon Center, and completed at least one challenge. Once that's done, the process is straightforward.
To claim a gift:
- Interact with a PC at any Pokémon Center
- Select Get Items
- Choose Mystery Gifts
- Pick either Get via Internet (for the Ditto Rug) or Get With Code/Password (for the Chansey Plant)
An active internet connection is required for both methods. After confirming, the claimed item lands directly in your inventory.
Why these codes matter for new players
Decoration items like the Ditto Rug and Chansey Plant are part of Pokopia's habitat and home customization systems, which sit at the core of the game's life-sim loop. Getting them for free early on gives you more options to personalize your space without grinding for them through normal play.
What most players miss is that the Check Mystery Gifts option in the same menu lets you verify which gifts you've already claimed, so there's no risk of accidentally redeeming something twice.
More codes are expected as Pokopia continues to roll out post-launch content. For the full breakdown of habitats, time travel mechanics, and everything else the game offers, browse more guides to stay ahead of what's coming. Make sure to check out more:
