Amazon couldn't keep a secret, and honestly, neither could the PS Store. Hours before Sony's June 2026 State of Play, five screenshots of Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis surfaced on the game's official PS Store page, followed shortly by Steam pre-order listings on Amazon that spelled out a hard release date. The cat is very much out of the bag.

What the leaked screenshots actually show
The five images that briefly appeared on the PS Store give the clearest look yet at how Amazon Games has rebuilt this classic. Lara Croft's character model looks sharp, and the architectural art direction across the shots carries real weight, with ancient stone structures rendered in a level of detail the original PS1 game could only dream about.
The standout moment across the batch is Lara squaring off against feathered dinosaurs, which is exactly the kind of image that gets long-time fans talking. The original Tomb Raider was never shy about throwing prehistoric threats at players, and this remake appears to be leaning into that legacy hard.
A release date hiding in plain sight on Amazon
The screenshots alone confirmed the game's State of Play appearance, but the real news came from Steam pre-order codes that briefly appeared on Amazon. A Bluesky user spotted both Standard and Deluxe Edition listings carrying a release date of February 10, 2027.
Here's the thing: that date makes a lot of sense in context. GTA 6 is targeting a November 19, 2026 launch, and positioning Legacy of Atlantis in February 2027 puts it well clear of that window. Amazon clearly had the listings ready to go live after the State of Play reveal and jumped the gun.
All pre-orders include early access to the Survivor Outfit, inspired by the modern Tomb Raider reboot trilogy. Deluxe Edition buyers also get 48-hour Early Access, the Parisian Fugitive outfit, and a post-launch story DLC pack.

The bigger picture for the franchise
Legacy of Atlantis is a reimagining of the original 1996 PS1 game, built to mark the series' 30th anniversary. What most players miss in the excitement around the remake is what comes after: Tomb Raider: Catalyst, an all-new entry in the series, is already confirmed for a later date. This is a two-game play from Amazon Games, using the nostalgia of the original to warm audiences up before launching something brand new.
The franchise's long history with PlayStation makes its State of Play presence a natural fit, and the accidental PS Store upload only reinforced what was already expected. A new trailer is set to drop during Sony's livestream today, which should finally put official footage in front of fans who have been running on screenshots and pre-order listings for the past few hours.
For everything you need once the game is out, the Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis guides collection will be the place to bookmark now and return to in February 2027.
