After several months of real-world use, the lenticular cover has picked up scratches. Nothing that destroys the effect, but noticeable when the light catches it at the right angle. The case dimensions come in at 11.81 x 6.10 x 2.28 inches, which makes it a touch bulkier than slim options like the PowerA Slim Case, and that extra surface area has more opportunity to collect marks in a packed bag.
The fix is straightforward: keep sharp or abrasive items away from the case in your bag. A makeup mirror, a hairbrush, or even a set of keys is enough to leave a mark on the lenticular surface over time. It's not a dealbreaker, but it is something to plan around if you want the artwork to stay looking sharp.
Price and where it sits in the PlayTrek lineup
The Mario Bricks case retails at $29.99 and has already appeared in sales at lower prices. Turtle Beach also released a Donkey Kong variant alongside it, which uses the same lenticular technique but with a less dramatic reveal.
