Valve sleuth GabeFollower, a well-established name in the Steam datamining space who isn't known for fabricating discoveries, shared screenshots of mined Steam backend code this week. The strings appear in multiple contexts, attached to labels like CreateTask_Request and CreateTask_Response in one screenshot.
A second screenshot ties SteamGPT to TrustScore variables. That second detail is what really sent the speculation into overdrive, because Trust Scores (also referred to as Trust Factors) are the matchmaking metric Valve uses in Counter-Strike 2. Valve's own support documentation explains that players improve their Trust Factor by playing Steam games "legitimately," which made it easy for people to connect the dots toward an AI-assisted anti-cheat scenario.
