Five free games on Xbox this weekend, and two of them don't even require a subscription.
Xbox Free Play Days is running July 16 through July 20, and this week's lineup grew beyond the original three titles after GTA Online and Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 were added as late additions on July 16. Those two are open to every Xbox player, full stop. The other three require some form of Xbox Game Pass membership to access.

What's in the lineup this week
Here's the full breakdown of what's available through July 20:
The standout for Game Pass members is Crisol: Theater of Idols, a survival horror title that launched in February and has built a strong positive reception on PC. It's the newest game in the batch by a wide margin, and getting a free trial window this early in its life is a decent opportunity to see if it holds up on console.
Looney Tunes: Wacky World of Sports and Planet Zoo: Console Edition are both heavily discounted if you want to keep them permanently. Planet Zoo in particular is sitting at 90% off, which is about as low as console prices go for a game of that scope.
The free-for-everyone angle is worth paying attention to
Xbox doesn't always split Free Play Days into tiered access like this. Having GTA Online available to every Xbox player, no Game Pass required, is the kind of move that pulls in a much wider audience than a standard Free Play Days event. GTA Online still draws millions of active players, so a free access window tends to spike population numbers noticeably.
Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 is an older title at this point but remains one of the more popular Dragon Ball games on console, with an active modding and online community. Pairing it with GTA Online gives the weekend some real reach across different player bases.
The key here is that both of those titles are free with zero barriers. You don't need to weigh up whether a Game Pass subscription is worth it just to try them.
Sales running alongside the free access window
Two of the three Game Pass titles have companion discounts running at the same time. Planet Zoo: Console Edition at 90% off is the bigger deal, bringing it down to a price point that's hard to argue with if you've been sitting on the fence. Looney Tunes: Wacky World of Sports at 70% off is more niche, but the free trial window at least lets you play it first before deciding.
Crisol stays at full price, which is a reasonable call for a game still in its first year. The free trial serves as the pitch.

And if racing is more your thing, the Forza Horizon 6 loyalty rewards breakdown covers how to claim up to 6 free cars just for having played past Forza titles.
