Planet of Lana II: Children of the Leaf hides its collectibles well. The 10 Holograms and 10 Secrets are scattered across 7 chapters, and a handful of them are genuinely easy to walk past without a second glance. The good news: nothing is permanently missable. The chapter select feature means you can clean up anything you missed without replaying the whole game. This guide covers every location in order, so follow it from the start and you'll hit 100% in one clean run.
What are Holograms and Secrets in Planet of Lana II?
Holograms are glowing collectibles tied to Mui's electric shorting ability. Each one requires you to position Mui correctly or use her abilities to unlock a small glowing chest. Secrets are a separate collectible type, also found in hidden alcoves and off-the-beaten-path areas throughout the game. Collecting all 10 Secrets and petting Mui in every section of the game are the two main requirements for 100% completion and unlocking the Purrfect trophy/achievement.
info
The chapter select feature means no collectible is permanently missable. If you miss one, simply return to that chapter after finishing the story.
The table below maps every Hologram to its chapter so you can track progress at a glance.
All Hologram locations
Hologram 1 (Chapter 1)
Shortly after you receive Mui, the game walks you through a slide tutorial under a pair of hydraulic presses. Once you clear the second press and reach the far right side of that section, climb upward instead of continuing forward. The Hologram is at the top of that climb. Use Mui's electric shorting ability by holding Triangle near it to unlock the chest.

Hologram 2 (Chapter 3)
This one punishes players who rush. You'll enter a cave during the snowy peaks section and reach a wall-jump prompt. Don't take it yet. Move right instead and the camera will pan out to show the cavern with a blizzard ripping through. Drop down the ledge below you when the wind stops, then immediately crouch left into the shelter before the next gust hits. The Hologram is inside. Make sure Mui follows you between wind bursts or she'll get swept away.
warning
The wind window is tight. If Mui gets caught in a gust, she'll be pushed back and you'll need to repeat the sequence. Call her with Circle and time her movement carefully.Hologram 3 (Chapter 3)
One of the easiest in the game. As you descend the large mine shaft elevator, head left the moment you land at the bottom. Climb up the ledge on the left side and the Hologram is sitting right there.
Hologram 4 (Chapter 3)
There's a significant gap between Hologram 3 and this one, so don't worry if progress feels slow. You'll eventually guide Mui past three electric jellyfish in the beach level using a seaweed capsule to dive together. You're in the right spot when a massive sea creature shadow drifts through the background. Swim left after surfacing and climb onto the shore on the left side to find it.
Hologram 5 (Chapter 3)
After exiting the water and reaching the facility, you'll hit a puzzle involving a security camera and a diagonally moving platform. Ride the platform to the top, then jump right onto the platforms above the camera instead of continuing left. The Hologram is at the end of that short platforming sequence.
Hologram 6 (Chapter 5)
Deep into the jungle section, you'll use Mui's mind control ability on a fly creature to water plants and grow bamboo up a tall wall. Keep going until you hit the second beehive of the level. Swing across the rope, then wall jump up to the small platform in the top-left corner of the area. Run left and jump to climb into an alcove. The sixth Hologram is inside.
info
The wall jump target is easy to miss because the camera doesn't naturally pull your eye toward it. Look for the ledge above the beehive platform before you commit to moving right.
Hologram 7 (Chapter 7)
Once you use a magnet robot to get through a large metal door in the Wastelands, you'll pass under a massive robot structure. After climbing a rope to clear the next obstacle, keep moving right. When you reach a platform you'd normally climb up, crawl underneath it instead. The Hologram is in that crawlspace. The robots visible in the foreground will flash red but won't attack.
Hologram 8 (Chapter 7)
In the city underbelly section, you'll use an ink fish to help Lana get past an underwater security camera. An elevator immediately follows. Ride it to the top, but instead of climbing left as the path suggests, crawl underneath on the left side. The Hologram is in that gap.
Hologram 9 (Chapter 7)
After the rooftop section, you'll drop into a large ventilation shaft with two rectangular platforms and big fans visible in the background. Jump across both platforms to the far right, then drop down. Before going through the door on the right, turn around and run all the way back left through the door on that side. The Hologram is through there.
Hologram 10 (Chapter 7)
The final Hologram is the one most players miss because it's right before the end boss. After the train ride and the conveyor belt puzzle section with cameras and blue lights, you'll reach a ledge on the right. Stop here. Going right leads directly to the final boss and the end of the game. Instead, jump back left to grab a ledge, crawl through a gap, and drop down to find the last Hologram.
warning
Do not proceed right past this point without grabbing Hologram 10 first. The final boss triggers immediately and you'll need to use chapter select to come back.
All Secrets locations (Chapters 1-7)
Secrets are separate from Holograms and tracked independently toward 100% completion. According to the full Planet of Lana II walkthrough and tips guide, stealth grass patches and cover routes are frequently the same areas where Secrets hide, so slowing down in stealth sections pays off.
- Secret 1 (Chapter 1): After the hydraulic press section in the Captain's Quarters area, take the hidden path on the right after passing the second press.
- Secret 2 (Chapter 3): After climbing the first section of icy walls, go right and climb down before taking the second wall section.
- Secret 3 (Chapter 3): At the bottom of the large mine shaft elevator, take the hidden path on the left.
- Secret 4 (Chapter 3): After the jellyfish crossing sequence, surface in the open water area with the massive fish shadow. Climb onto the land on the left.
- Secret 5 (Chapter 3): In the facility area with the diagonal platform, ride it to the top and jump to the platforms on the right.
- Secret 6 (Chapter 5): In the jungle wasp area, swing left on the rope and jump to the gap in the top-left corner.
- Secret 7 (Chapter 7): After climbing a rope past two destroyed bots with flashing red lights, go under the platform to the right of those bots.
- Secret 8 (Chapter 7): At the top of the lift after the underwater camera section, slide under the wall on the left.
- Secret 9 (Chapter 7): In the large ventilation shaft room with two fans, enter the tunnel on the left.
- Secret 10 (Chapter 7): At the end of the conveyor belt section, jump left into the gap beneath the belt before heading outside to the final boss.
How to pet Mui in every section (Purrfect trophy)
Petting Mui is required 16 times across the game for the Purrfect trophy/achievement. The input is L2 + Square. The game divides chapters into sections, and each section has one designated petting opportunity. Miss a section and you'll need to use chapter select to return.
According to the achievement breakdown covered in the Planet of Lana 2 achievement guide covering all holograms and unlocks, the petting locations align with natural chapter transitions, so the easiest approach is to pet Mui every time you enter a new area or trigger a cutscene that signals a new section.
The 16 petting locations break down as follows: 1 in Chapter 1, 3 in Chapter 2, 3 in Chapter 3, 0 in Chapter 4 (Mui-only chapter), 5 in Chapter 5, 0 in Chapter 6, and 4 in Chapter 7.
Does chapter select affect trophies?
No. Chapter select in Planet of Lana II is fully compatible with trophy and achievement tracking. Any collectibles or petting interactions you complete through chapter select count toward your totals. This makes cleanup straightforward: finish the story first, note what you missed, then return to the relevant chapters.
