PowerWash Simulator 2 just got its most substantial post-launch update yet. Update 1.2, titled Caldera Chronicles: Miniature Village, dropped on March 10, 2026 and delivers a free new job, a batch of quality-of-life improvements, and fixes for some genuinely annoying bugs that had been lingering since launch. FuturLab packed a lot into this one.
What is the Caldera Chronicles Miniature Village job?
The Miniature Village is the first entry in the Caldera Chronicles, a new series of free levels set in the Three Rivers National Park. The location is called Nutsville, and despite the name implying something compact, it is not a small job. You will be working your way from a harbour to a viaduct, past an observatory, and through everything connecting them.
The scale is the hook here. Cleaning a miniature environment means every tiny detail is a target, and the level design leans into that contrast between the small physical objects and the full-sized pressure washer you bring to bear on them. It plays differently from the standard jobs in the base game.

According to FuturLab's official patch notes, the Miniature Village is available now on PC, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, and Nintendo Switch 2 at no additional cost. You do not need to purchase anything to access it.

Jump straight to the Caldera Chronicles section of the job select screen to find the Miniature Village. It sits separately from the main Career Story Mode jobs.
What quality-of-life improvements does Update 1.2 add?
Beyond the new level, Update 1.2 addresses several things that players had been asking about since launch. Here is a breakdown of the main additions:
Key rebinding
Key rebinding is finally in the game. You can now remap controls to whatever layout suits you, which matters more than it might sound for a game where you spend extended sessions holding down buttons and adjusting aim. Players using non-standard keyboard setups or accessibility configurations will benefit the most from this.
Controller deadzone sliders
Controller Deadzone Sliders give you finer control over how your controller input registers. If your analog sticks have developed any drift, or you just want tighter precision when targeting small surfaces, adjusting the deadzone is now an option rather than something you have to work around.
Stackable Home Base furniture
Your Home Base now supports stackable furniture. This sounds minor but opens up considerably more flexibility when organising your space, especially for players who have accumulated a lot of cosmetic items over time.
info
The update also fixes a bug that prevented dirty furniture from being recalled in the Home Base. If you had items stuck in a dirty state, that should now be resolved.
Full Update 1.2 patch notes breakdown
The patch notes from FuturLab cover four main categories. Here is what changed in each:
The Career Story Mode cash tracking bug is also resolved in this update. Previously, money earned in Career jobs was not tracking correctly, which could affect progression.

Update 1.2 achievement fixes
warning
The Purr Bonding achievement has had its unlock conditions changed. It is now only obtainable in the Home Base, not during regular jobs. If you were attempting to unlock it elsewhere, that method no longer works. How does the Miniature Village compare to other Caldera Chronicles levels?
Right now, the Miniature Village is the only Caldera Chronicles level available. FuturLab has positioned this as a series, which means more entries are planned, though no specific release schedule has been confirmed. Based on available information, the Caldera Chronicles appear to function as a free ongoing content track separate from any paid DLC.

Miniature Village observatory area
Tips for cleaning the Miniature Village efficiently
After working through the level, a few approaches make the job considerably faster:
- Start at the harbour. The harbour area has the most surface area concentrated in one zone. Clearing it first gives you a clean anchor point to work outward from.
- Use the viaduct as a landmark. The viaduct is the tallest structure and easy to spot from anywhere in the level. Use it to orient yourself when switching between zones.
- Adjust your deadzone before starting. With the new Controller Deadzone Sliders, spending 30 seconds dialling in your settings before the job begins pays off when targeting the smaller details on miniature structures.
- Check the observatory last. The observatory sits at the edge of the level and has several curved surfaces that require repositioning. Saving it for last means you are not backtracking.
info
If you are playing on Nintendo Switch 2, the more frequent autosaves added in this update mean you can exit mid-job without losing as much progress as before.
What platforms is Update 1.2 available on?
According to FuturLab's official announcement, Update 1.2 is live on all current platforms:
- PC (Steam)
- Xbox Series X|S
- PlayStation 5
- Nintendo Switch 2
The PlayStation Trophies coverage of the update confirms the PS5 version includes all the same features, including the controller deadzone sliders and stackable furniture.
