Raccoon Coin Pusher

Raccoin gives you six playable characters, each built around a different coin type and a distinct set of perks. The roster starts locked except for one, and you work through them in a fixed chain by hitting specific round targets. Knowing what each character does before you commit to a run saves a lot of wasted attempts.

How does the character unlock chain work?

Every character after Manager has a specific unlock condition tied to the previous one. You must play a run with the listed character and reach a target round number. Losing after that point is fine; the unlock still triggers. Since the game runs to round 15, the unlock targets get progressively closer to the end as you work through the chain.

Here's the full unlock order at a glance:

Manager: the best starting character

Manager is the default character and the one you'll spend your first several runs with. The coin type here is Math Coins, which have straightforward effects: they add value to your other coins without requiring complex setups or synergies. That simplicity is the point.

Manager's perks give you two extra Exchanges per round, which means more chances to adjust your coin lineup before committing. There's also a bonus to how many tickets you can earn. Neither perk demands any specific knowledge of the game's deeper systems, making Manager the most forgiving option for learning the basics.

Spend at least a few runs here before moving on. You'll hit round 8 naturally while learning the board, which unlocks Biologist automatically.

Biologist: first unlock, still approachable

Biologist introduces Animal and Plant Coins, which are a step up in complexity because most of them need other specific coins nearby to activate their effects. Bunny Coins, for example, only trigger when paired with other Bunny Coins. Wolf Coins need Bunnies present to gain value. These dependency chains are simple enough to track early on, but they do require more planning than Manager's straightforward Math Coins.

The character compensates by letting you earn special coins after exchanges, which helps you build the pairs you need. According to TheGamer's character breakdown, Biologist is still considered beginner-friendly despite the added coin interactions.

Unlock condition: reach round 8 with Manager.

Chemist: explosions solve most problems

Chemist is a dog (yes, actually a dog) whose specialty is Element Coins. The main draw here is that these coins create a lot of explosions, which physically push other coins around the board. That movement can set off chains you wouldn't otherwise trigger.

The character's standout perk is access to up to five Modifier Prizes, which transform weaker coins into stronger ones. Two specific coins worth noting early: the TNT Coin and the Whirlwind Coin are both available and genuinely useful from the start of a Chemist run.

Unlock condition: reach round 9 with Biologist.

Trader: combo-focused spin wheel build

Trader is built around the Spin Wheel, a mechanic that spawns prize balls or throws coins onto your board. Trader's perk shortens the combo length required to charge Spin Energy, meaning you activate the wheel more often than any other character would.

The coin pool here is mostly manageable, with one notable exception: the Jetoin, which has a random value when scored. It can go negative, so it's a coin you want to plan around rather than ignore.

Unlock condition: reach round 10 with Chemist.

Astronomer: high ceiling, unique mechanic

Astronomer introduces the most distinctive mechanic in the roster: Astrofall. This lets coins jump around the board and land in a different position, with multiple ways to trigger the effect. Landing coins via Astrofall typically increases their value, so the character rewards players who can set up favorable landing spots.

The character also gives you a free Astro coin use per round, which lets you activate your best coin immediately at the start of each new round without spending resources. The Sun Coin is highlighted as especially strong here when paired with the right modifiers.

It takes a run or two to internalize how Astrofall positioning works, but the payoff is real once it clicks.

Unlock condition: reach round 11 with Trader.

Big Eater: the most complex character

Big Eater uses Food Coins, which function as ingredients rather than standalone scorers. The Chococoin is a good example: on its own it does nothing special, but combined with other coins it enhances them. The whole character is built around this ingredient logic.

The exclusive perk here is the Cooking Pot gadget, which lets you cook coins directly to apply enhancements. Since round 15 is the final round and the unlock requires reaching round 12 with Astronomer, you're already deep into a run when you trigger it. Big Eater is the last character in the chain and arguably the most reward-dependent on understanding how coin combinations interact.

Unlock condition: reach round 12 with Astronomer.

Which character should you start with?

For new players, Manager is the right call. The extra exchanges give you breathing room and Math Coins don't punish you for not knowing the board yet. Work through to Biologist once you're comfortable, since that character teaches you how dependency-based coin builds function without making it too punishing.

Chemist and Trader sit in the middle of the difficulty range and reward players who've already learned to build combos intentionally. Astronomer has the highest skill ceiling of the mid-to-late unlocks, and Big Eater asks the most of your coin combination knowledge.
