Charms are some of the most impactful collectibles in Resident Evil Requiem, giving both Leon Kennedy and Grace Ashcroft meaningful stat boosts that can shift how you approach combat. The catch? Most of them are tucked into optional corners of the map, tied to side objectives, or locked behind the game's Challenge Point system. Miss the right moment and you might find yourself locked out permanently.

This guide covers every Charm currently confirmed in Resident Evil Requiem, including exact locations, unlock conditions, and what each one actually does for you in the field. Whether you're hunting collectibles on a first run or optimizing a New Game+ loadout, here's everything you need.

How Do Charms Work in Resident Evil Requiem?

Before diving into locations, it helps to understand the mechanic. Leon must physically equip Charms onto specific weapon types to activate their effects. Grace, on the other hand, only needs to carry a Charm in her inventory for its bonus to apply passively. This distinction matters when you're deciding which Charms to prioritize for each character's playstyle.

Once you unlock a Charm (whether by looting it or purchasing it), it becomes permanently available across all playthroughs. You can retrieve previously unlocked Charms from item boxes during Grace's segments or supply boxes during Leon's segments.

All Charm Locations and Effects

Charms are split into two categories: ones found during the campaign and ones purchased through the Special Content menu using Challenge Points (CP). Here's a full breakdown:

Campaign Charm Locations: Step-by-Step

Where to Find the Stakeout Takeout and Connoisseur Charms

Both of these Charms share the same location: the Pantry on the first floor of the Care Center. The difference is which character can grab each one.

As Grace, you need to deal with the Chef zombie first. This enemy is notably tough, so consider sneaking up on it and using a Hemolytic Injector to put it down efficiently. Once it's dead, loot the Pantry Key from its body and open the Pantry to claim the Stakeout Takeout Charm.

When you later take control of Leon in the same area, return to the Pantry and look for the cabinet with the warped, stuck door. Equip your Hatchet and pry it open to grab the Connoisseur Charm. No key required, just the right tool.

Where to Find the Eye Spy Charm

The Eye Spy Charm drops from Chunk, a boss enemy found in the Care Center East Wing. Defeating Chunk is also tied to the "Grace and Goliath" challenge, so you're earning progress on two fronts at once. Once Chunk is down, grab the Charm from the drop.

Where to Find the BSAA Emblem Charm

This one requires you to track down and open BSAA Containers scattered through East Raccoon City. The BSAA Emblem is your reward for opening the fourth container in the sequence. Keep in mind this Charm is specifically for sniper rifles and only activates its firepower boost when the scope is removed from the weapon.

How to Solve Barry's Scavenger Hunt (S.T.A.R.S. Emblem and Power Shades)

Two of Leon's strongest Charms come from completing Barry's Scavenger Hunt inside the RPD. Here's how to work through it:

  1. Head to the S.T.A.R.S. Office and examine the two photographs Barry left behind. One shows a noticeboard with a plant, an American flag, and a TV suspended above it. The second is a close-up of the flag and a small table with a circle drawn on it labeled "HERE." The back of the photo reads: "You kids have fun solving this one! - Barry"
  2. The noticeboard you're looking for is in the West Office area, not the Main Hall. Go through the door on the right side of the West Office into the Operations Room.
  3. In the Operations Room, you'll find the TV still suspended from the ceiling in front of a noticeboard. Climb on top of the container near the TV and search the circled spot to retrieve the locker keys.
  4. Return to the West Office and use the keys to open JoJo's locker. Inside you'll find the S.T.A.R.S. Emblem Charm, plus two zoo tickets (a bittersweet touch).
  5. The Power Shades Charm is located in Wesker's briefcase inside the RPD Armory, also unlocked as part of the Scavenger Hunt reward chain.

Where to Find the Cute Bear Charm

After you exit the RPD, check the Parking Garage before moving on. The Cute Bear Charm sits next to an abandoned van in the garage. It's easy to walk past if you're rushing, so take a moment to sweep the area. This Charm is built for shotgun users who engage at mid-range rather than point-blank, so it pairs well with a more methodical playstyle.

How to Unlock the Trusted Companion and Rugged Rookie Charms

These two Charms live in the Special Content menu and require Challenge Points to purchase. You earn CP by completing in-game challenges, which track things like enemy kills, puzzle completions, and exploration milestones.

The Trusted Companion Charm (Leon's handgun penetration boost) can also be unlocked by defeating 300 enemies across your playthrough. If you're thorough in combat, you may hit this threshold naturally. The Rugged Rookie Charm for Grace is a straightforward CP purchase at 6,500 points.

Once purchased, both Charms become available in item boxes and supply boxes on subsequent runs.

Which Charms Should You Prioritize?

With limited time to collect everything on a first run, here's a quick priority breakdown based on character and playstyle:

  • For aggressive Grace builds: Stakeout Takeout is essential if you rely on knife counters. Eye Spy is a strong safety net for tougher difficulty settings.
  • For Leon's combat flexibility: Power Shades is arguably the most unique Charm in the game, offering limitless bullet penetration plus a last-round damage spike. It's worth going out of your way for.
  • For sniper-focused Leon runs: Pair the BSAA Emblem with a scopeless rifle setup for a notable damage increase at range.
  • For handgun-heavy Leon builds: Connoisseur is a straightforward firepower bump with no downsides, making it one of the safest equips in the game.
