Augments are one of the most impactful decisions you'll make in Cursed Gear. These skill-altering modifications completely change how your gear performs in combat, turning a standard ability into something tailored to your playstyle. Whether you want to punish defensive opponents, melt enemies from range, or control a crowd, there's an Augment built for that job. Here's everything you need to know.
What Are Augments in Cursed Gear?
Augments are purchasable modifications that replace the default behavior of a specific gear skill. Rather than boosting raw stats, each Augment fundamentally changes how a skill works during a fight. A sweep kick becomes an overhead slam. A single energy blast splits into three. The transformation is complete, not incremental.
At the time of writing, four Augments exist in Cursed Gear, and you can only equip one at a time. That limitation makes your choice meaningful, so understanding each option before spending your Fragments is worth the effort.

You can only equip one Augment at a time. Choose based on your primary playstyle and the class you're running before committing your Fragments.

How to Get Augments in Cursed Gear
All four Augments are sold at the Kazu shop, located inside the Neo Shibuya point of interest. To reach it, travel to the Pale District through an Expedition, then board the metro train (teleporter) to Neo Shibuya. Exit the train station, walk straight down the main city road, and turn into the side lane at the small intersection. The Kazu shop sits further down that lane, with Augments displayed on a separate table from the standard gear.
Each Augment costs 200 Fragments, and the price is the same across all four options. According to community sources, the Shibuya Crossing area also sells Augments, giving you a second access point if Neo Shibuya is crowded.
info
Farm Fragments through Expeditions before heading to Neo Shibuya. You only need 200 for your first Augment, but knowing your class in advance saves you a wasted purchase.

All Augments in Cursed Gear
Here's a complete look at every available Augment, which class skill it modifies, and how it changes your combat options.
Axe Kick Augment
The Axe Kick Augment modifies the Ravager's Sweep skill. Instead of a fast low kick aimed at the legs, you deliver a downward overhead axe kick that guardbreaks blocking opponents. This is the standout feature: most defensive players rely on blocking to absorb damage, and this Augment punishes that habit directly. A successful guardbreak opens the opponent for free follow-up combo damage.
The downside is situational. Against aggressive players who rarely block, the Axe Kick loses much of its value. It shines specifically in PvP scenarios where opponents lean on defense.
Beam Augment
The Beam Augment applies to the Manipulator or Constructor's Energy Blast skill, converting the single projectile into a sustained long-range beam. The trade-off is straightforward: dramatically increased range and consistent damage over distance, but harder to land on fast-moving targets and less effective in close quarters.
If you play at range and prefer steady pressure over burst windows, the Beam Augment fits that style well.
Spectre Augment
The Spectre Augment modifies the Projector's Curse Blitz skill. The default teleporting flurry of strikes gets replaced by a stationary barrage of concentrated kicks in a single area. The burst damage output increases significantly, but you're rooted in place during the attack, making you predictable and vulnerable to repositioning opponents.
The Spectre Augment rewards players who can control space and force enemies into their attack zone rather than chasing them down.
Tri Blast Augment
The Tri Blast Augment also modifies the Energy Blast skill (for Manipulator or Constructor classes), but takes a different direction than the Beam. Instead of a single focused projectile, the blast splits into three smaller ones that spread outward. Each individual blast deals less damage than the base version, but the spread makes it excellent for hitting multiple enemies or suppressing movement.
Landing all three on a single target is difficult, so Tri Blast performs better in multi-target situations than in focused duels.
warning
Both the Beam and Tri Blast Augments modify the same base skill (Energy Blast), so Manipulator and Constructor players need to pick one direction: focused range damage or spread control. You cannot run both.
What's the Best Augment in Cursed Gear?
For PvP, the Axe Kick Augment stands out as the strongest option currently available. Its ability to guardbreak blocking opponents creates free combo opportunities that other Augments simply don't provide. Defensive play is common in Cursed Gear PvP, and punishing it directly with a single skill modification gives Ravager players a significant edge.
For players not running the Ravager class, the Beam Augment offers the most reliable performance, particularly in open-area fights where distance management matters.
Augment Strategy by Playstyle
- Aggressive PvP players (Ravager): Axe Kick for guardbreak and combo extension
- Ranged control players (Manipulator/Constructor): Beam for sustained pressure at distance
- Burst damage specialists (Projector): Spectre for concentrated high-damage windows
- Multi-target/crowd control players (Manipulator/Constructor): Tri Blast for spread suppression
