The Drylands is one of the strangest spots in all of Roblox Fisch. Most fishing games put fish in water. Fisch puts them in sand. There are 24 fish hiding across this arid zone, split between buried dunes, stagnant oases, and pooled rainwater, and finishing the bestiary here requires specific bait, a unique rod, and some patience with weather conditions. How do you reach the Drylands in Fisch?
The Drylands sits right next to the Fischfest 2 Island, which makes it easy to navigate to once you know the trick. Use your Magic Conch to teleport to the Fischfest 2 POI, then head toward the Sand Castle area. Walk behind it and you will find the Drylands entrance at GPS coordinates (-24497, 2683, -5386).
How do you fish inside the Drylands?
This is where the Drylands genuinely breaks from every other zone in Fisch. A large portion of its 24 fish live underground, buried in sand dunes rather than swimming in open water. Standard rods will not reach them.
To catch sand-dwelling fish, you need the Marrow Rod. Crafting it requires completing a quest from Palentiologist Petri, who stands at GPS (-23924, 2696, -6213) on the island. The quest involves collecting three separate parts, so plan for a dedicated run before you start fishing.
For the water-based fish near the oases and stagnant torrential rainwater pools, any regular rod works fine. The distinction matters because it affects your prep before each session.

What bait do you need for the Drylands?
The Drylands uses a narrower bait pool than most zones, but a few specialty baits appear here that you will not need elsewhere. Stock up on Cacti Pulp before your session since it covers several of the rarest catches, including the Exotic and Secret tier fish.

Every fish in the Drylands spawns during Summer season, with the exception of the Dune Relic, which has no season, time, or weather restriction. Almost everything requires Clear weather, with only two fish needing Foggy conditions.
How do you catch the rarest Drylands fish?
The top of the rarity ladder here belongs to the Terrosunder (Exotic) and Photic Terrosunder (Secret). Both require Cacti Pulp bait during Day time with Clear weather in Summer. The conditions are identical, which means you can target both in the same session.
The three Mythical fish split across different time windows. Reservoir Squalus only bites at Night, while Sun-Blistered Perch and Sunder-Whelp Jaw are both Day catches. Plan your sessions around these windows rather than fishing blindly across the full day cycle.
The Mirage Fin is the only fish requiring Foggy weather, and it only appears at Night. This makes it the most awkward Uncommon in the bestiary since you are waiting on a specific weather event rather than just setting a time alarm.
Tips for completing the Drylands bestiary efficiently
After running through the Drylands multiple times, a few patterns stand out for cutting down completion time:
- Batch by time of day. Catch all Night fish (Mirage Fin, Dune-Stalker Eel, Reservoir Squalus) in a single night session, then switch to Day fish (Sun-Blistered Perch, Sunder-Whelp Jaw, Terrosunder, Photic Terrosunder) when the cycle flips.
- Bring all bait types. Switching between bait mid-session wastes time. Load up on Cacti Pulp, Fish Head, Shrimp, Worm, Insect, Bagel, and carry extras of Cacti Pulp specifically since it covers the rarest fish.
- Craft the Marrow Rod first. Attempting the Drylands bestiary without it locks you out of the majority of the fish list before you even start.
- Wait for Summer. Every fish except the Dune Relic is locked to Summer season. Check the in-game season before committing a long session.
- Target Foggy nights deliberately. The Mirage Fin will hold up your completion the longest if you are not prepared for it. Check the weather forecast and log in specifically when Foggy night conditions are active.
