Lanterns in Slayers 2 are more than cosmetic glow-ups. They stack meaningful stats like Max Health, Stamina, movement speed multipliers, and damage bonuses, making the right [all lantern] choice a genuine part of your build. There are 11 lanterns in total on Roblox, ranging from a cheap Common purchase to Mythic drops that require farming specific bosses, clearing dungeons, or solving environmental puzzles. One is still unobtainable. Here's every single one, where to find it, and what it actually does.
All lanterns at a glance
Before breaking down each lantern individually, here's the full picture in one place. Rarities run from Common through Rare, Epic, Legendary, and Mythic.
How to get each lantern in Slayers 2
Cherry Blossom Lantern (Common)
The starting point for most players. Find the Kuro NPC at night near the gateway by the Serpent King Obari in Bamboo Grove Sanctuary. He sells the Cherry Blossom Lantern for 2,400 Wen. It only gives +0.2 Illumination, so treat it as a placeholder until you can farm something better.

Slayers 2 Guide: All Lantern Locations
Emberheart Lantern (Legendary)
This one is worth prioritizing early because it grants cold immunity for limited periods, which you need to access the snow area without freezing. The Yeti Boss has a 25% drop chance, which is generous by Slayers 2 standards.
To reach it, teleport to the Butterfly Estate Shrine, cross the Red Bridge, jump off the cliff at the end of the ridge, and walk through the waterfall into the cave. The Yeti sits frozen inside. You need a Frozen Heart to trigger the fight, obtainable from Rare Chests or Sealed Cache Chests at a 10% rate, or directly from the Black Market.
Lantern of Despair (Rare) and Abyssal Lantern (Epic)
Both come from Ice Chests dropped by Reaper Trainee Kuzan, a boss with 1,530 HP who spawns inside a cave east of the Frostveil Shrine. The Lantern of Despair has a 6% drop chance; the Abyssal Lantern sits at 2%. You need the Emberheart Lantern equipped for cold immunity before farming here.
The Lantern of Despair is Phantom class with a 1.02x Movement Speed Factor and 1.03x Stamina Regen Speed on top of its health bonus. The Abyssal Lantern is Titan class and trades the movement bonus for a 1.05x Health Regen Speed multiplier and a larger +60 HP boost. Farm Kuzan repeatedly and open every Ice Chest until one of these drops.

Fujiko's Lantern (Legendary)
This Technician-class lantern drops from Common Chests at a 1.5% rate. The most efficient sources are the Mother Bear Boss near Bamboo Grove Sanctuary and the Zuko Bandit Leader near Windy Peak. Neither fight is particularly demanding, so this is a grind-friendly target for players who want a damage-boosting lantern before reaching endgame content.
Stats include 1.035x Additional Damage Factor, +0.65 Illumination, +40 HP, and +20 Stamina.
Mushroom Lit Lantern (Legendary
This one requires a specific setup or you will waste the run. Before starting, unequip any lantern you have. Then find Old Trapper Retsu, who stands against the Torii gate at the entrance to the snowy tundra. Speak to him and select the "Lantern on your belt" dialogue option.
Head into the snowy village, use campfires to stay warm, and enter the cave. Walk straight and you will see glowing mushrooms lining the path. Step on all of them to disperse the particles, moving quickly so the progress does not reset. Reach the end of the path, then turn around. The Mushroom Lit Lantern will be sitting on the ground on your way back out.

The payoff is solid: +0.65 Illumination, +30 HP, +35 Stamina, 1.05x Movement Speed Factor, and 1.07x Stamina Regen Speed. The Phantom class movement bonuses make this strong for aggressive playstyles.
Nichirin Lantern (Legendary)
The Nichirin Lantern only drops from Ouwigahara dungeon chests. To reach the dungeon, travel east from the Forgotten Plains until you find the Flame Trainee Boss. Cross the bridge to his left and enter the portal at the end.
Drop rates by chest type:
- Ouwigahara Chest (costs 30,000 dungeon points): 5% chance
- Ouwigahara Cache (every 10 floors cleared): 5% chance
- Ouwigahara Deep Cache: 10% chance
With +2 Additional Damage, +0.65 Illumination, +85 HP, and +45 Stamina, this is the tankiest Legendary lantern available. Duelist class players should prioritize it over Fujiko's if they can handle the dungeon grind.
Firstlight Lantern (Mythic)
The Firstlight Lantern is crafted, not dropped, but first you need the Schematic. From the Mother Bear area, travel west and climb the dark grey boulder leading up the first mountain. At the top, enter the red traditional building and speak to Lamplighter Isamu.
He runs a memory puzzle: glowing squares light up on the floor in a sequence, and you walk over them in the correct order. There are five rounds. Step on a wrong plate and the round resets. Complete all five rounds successfully and Isamu hands over the Firstlight Lantern Schematic.
Having Double Jump and Wall Climb unlocked makes reaching the mountain top much easier. Stats are Sentinel class: +1.15 Block Points, 1.14x Block Regen, +0.8 Illumination, +100 HP, and +40 Stamina. It is the best defensive lantern in the game.
For players building around crafted gear, the Slayers 2 Firstlight weapon schematic locations guide covers the rest of the Firstlight set.
Lost Lantern (Mythic)
The Lost Lantern has a 0.9% drop chance from Lost Chests inside Final Selection. Queue for Final Selection near Final Selection Plains, past the Nezura Boss. The event runs every 2 hours. Progress through until Mizuto's quest sends you to the underwater cave, where you farm the Lost Boss for Lost Chests.
Alternatively, the Lost Lantern has an extremely rare chance to appear as fishing loot. Using a Legendary Fishing Rod with quality bait improves the odds, but this method is far slower than farming Final Selection directly.

Demonic Lantern (Mythic)
The Demonic Lantern drops from World Event Chests at a 3% rate. These chests come from defeating World Bosses with 3,000 HP. The full list of qualifying bosses includes Gyutai, Domai, Yahari, Sumari, Reaper, Nezura, Enru, Obar, Gyoreii, Saneri, Shinora, Giyen, and Rengu. Target whichever you can clear fastest and most consistently.
For damage-focused builds, this is the top lantern: +2 Additional Damage, 1.015x Additional Damage Factor, +0.8 Illumination, +105 HP, and +55 Stamina. The Duelist class tag and combined damage bonuses make it the strongest offensive option at Mythic rarity.
Everburn Lantern (Mythic)
The Everburn Lantern exists in the game's data with Cold Immunity, +0.5 Illumination, +70 HP, and +35 Stamina, but there is currently no way to obtain it. Developers have confirmed an acquisition method is coming. Check back after major updates.
What is the best lantern in Slayers 2?
It depends on your build:
- Best for damage: Demonic Lantern. The combination of flat +2 Additional Damage and a 1.015x Additional Damage Factor at Mythic rarity is unmatched for Duelist builds.
- Best for defense/blocking: Firstlight Lantern. The +1.15 Block Points and 1.14x Block Regen are unique to this lantern and pair well with Sentinel builds.
- Best for mobility: Mushroom Lit Lantern. The 1.05x Movement Speed and 1.07x Stamina Regen make it the strongest Phantom-class option and it is free to obtain through the secret quest.
- Best early-game: Emberheart Lantern. The cold immunity it provides unlocks an entire zone, making it functionally more valuable than its raw stats suggest.
