Romestead currently has four bosses in its early access build, and none of them announce themselves with a waypoint or a flashing marker. You have to find them, trigger their spawns through specific actions, and then actually survive the fight. This guide covers every boss location, the exact spawn condition for each one, and what to expect when you walk in.
How do you find all bosses in Romestead?
Each boss sits in a distinct biome or map region, and three of the four require you to interact with something in the environment before the encounter actually begins. Knowing what to look for saves a lot of aimless wandering.

Guardian of Minerva spawn point
Guardian of Minerva
The Guardian of Minerva occupies the top left corner of the map. Head there and you'll spot a cluster of eggs on the ground near its lair. Break all three eggs, and the boss spawns. Defeating it drops the Guardian's Eye, which makes this fight worth prioritizing early.
There's a handy shortcut the community figured out: a giant shadow moves across the sky and tracks directly toward the Guardian's location. If you're having trouble navigating to the top left corner, just follow the shadow and it'll lead you straight there.
Break all three eggs before engaging anything else in the area. Missing one means the boss won't spawn, and the eggs can be scattered across a wider radius than they first appear.
Pyzifax
The Pyzifax lives in the Desert biome, inside a large cedar compound. Enter the dungeon at the compound and follow the main path until you hit a right turn. Take it, follow that corridor to the end, then turn left. The final chamber at the end of that left corridor contains a red-colored box. Break the box to trigger the fight.
The routing here is straightforward once you know the turns: right, then left, red box at the end. Don't veer off the main path before the right turn or you'll loop around and waste time.
The Pyzifax encounter is tucked at the back of a multi-corridor dungeon. Rushing through without noting the turns can leave you backtracking through the same rooms repeatedly.
Cyclops
The Cyclops is also in the Desert biome, but unlike the other bosses, it's locked behind story progression. You can't access it early. Start Virgil's Poem in the main campaign and follow it to the Eye Dungeon location. The Cyclops waits at the far end of that dungeon region.
This is the only boss in the current early access build that gates itself behind a quest trigger, so if you're trying to clear all four bosses in one session, do Virgil's Poem before hunting the others to avoid having to backtrack to the Desert biome twice.
Attempting to reach the Cyclops before starting Virgil's Poem will block your progress. The Eye Dungeon only becomes accessible once you hit the relevant point in the main campaign storyline.
Great Phoenix of Arabia
The Great Phoenix of Arabia is the newest boss added in early access, found in the Volcano biome. Head south toward the lava fields. You'll find an altar surrounded by several stones in that area. Destroy the altar to summon the Great Phoenix and begin the encounter.
The stone arrangement around the altar makes it easy to spot even in the chaotic visual noise of the lava fields. If you're scanning the southern Volcano biome and don't see it immediately, look for the stone cluster first rather than the altar itself.

Can you fight bosses in co-op?
Yes. Every boss in Romestead supports both solo and co-op play. Taking on the Guardian of Minerva or the Great Phoenix of Arabia with friends doesn't change the spawn mechanics, so the same triggers apply regardless of party size. For action games like this, co-op tends to make the harder encounters significantly more manageable without removing the challenge entirely.
The early access build currently has 4 bosses. Three are available from the start once you reach their biomes, while the Cyclops requires story progression through Virgil's Poem before it unlocks.

What's the fastest order to clear all bosses?
For efficiency, start with the Guardian of Minerva since it's in the top left corner of the map and drops the Guardian's Eye reward. Then move to the Desert biome and trigger Virgil's Poem first so the Cyclops unlocks. While working through the story quest, the Pyzifax dungeon is also in the Desert biome, so you can clear both without leaving the area. Finish with the Great Phoenix of Arabia in the Volcano biome to close out all four.
This order minimizes biome travel and avoids the frustration of clearing the Desert biome, leaving, and then having to return for the Cyclops once Virgil's Poem is in progress.
