Jack Pepper's investigation into Steve Bandel's disappearance takes a sharp turn when a tip leads him to the Mouseburg Grand Opera。What starts as a simple interrogation of Roland, the Stage Designer, turns into a full-scale assassination attempt on mayoral candidate Cornelius Stilton, a boss fight against the Prima Donna, and the small matter of burning the entire opera house down. This walkthrough covers every step, every collectible, and every secret room so you do not have to replay the basement section twice。

Do not head straight to the car. Tammy Tumbler is standing near the alley entrance and she will give you your first side mission, Show Some Culture, Jack, which asks for a photo of the opera house. She has never been allowed inside, so she wants to see the glamour. You will complete this automatically during the escape sequence later, but you need to trigger the conversation now or the quest will not register。
Once you have spoken to Tammy, interact with the car to open the top-down city map and drive north to the Opera House。

Save at the typewriter in your office before leaving. The opera section is long and the basement has a rough enemy gauntlet。

The waiter outside confirms Roland is upstairs. Head inside and check the table near the entrance door for Newspaper 3, which covers the troubles in the nearby town of Shrewthicket. There is also money on the table and on top of the lockers in the corner。
Through the kitchen door you will find a closed room on the east wall with a safe inside. Tailpick it to collect the money. Back in the kitchen, the north section has a vent that leads outside to the air ducts you may have spotted from the alley. There is a schematic on top of those ducts and an ammo box at the end of the duct path. Move carefully along the outer left side of the ducts to grab the ammo without falling。
At the top of the duct ladder, wait for the air vents to stop blowing, grab the money to the right, then drop into the backstage dressing room。
What is the Boomstick and where do you find it?
Right in the dressing room, leaning against a vanity chair, is the Boomstick, a close-range shotgun. Ammo sits on the floor next to it. There is also a helmet nearby. Pick all of this up before going through the door because you will need the Boomstick shortly。

Go through the hall door and into the next room. One enemy guards a sealed door. Behind that door you can hear Roland making muffled noises. You cannot reach him directly from here。
Navigate through the maze of shelves, duck under the large roll blocking the doorway, and climb the ladder in the next room. At the top you will find a helmet and a totally normal wall that can be blown up using the explosive barrel in front of it. An enemy emerges when the wall goes down。
To the left is a box of D-namite, the game's TNT sticks that you can throw at enemies or destructible structures. There is another box of D-namite through the blown wall。
Across the room, the floor looks lower and incomplete. This is the section you need to detonate. Switch to D-namite, aim at the floor, and fire. Drop through the hole and you will land right next to Roland, who is tied up. A typewriter is sitting next to him, so save before you interact。
Talk to Roland to free him. He mentions the people who tied him up were talking about killing Stilton and loading the big gun, which he assumed were show titles. Jack immediately recognizes Cornelius Stilton as a mayoral candidate and looks over the ledge to see a cannon aimed directly at Stilton's balcony seat。
Save at the typewriter next to Roland before proceeding. The assassination prevention section involves multiple enemy waves and a long run before the next save point。

Head back out and tailpick the locked door to the north. Inside you will find more Boomstick ammo, additional D-namite, Heal-D drinks, and helmet armor. Four enemies burst from barrels in the east side of the room. A totally normal wall on the east side can be blown open with D-namite。
Before going through the wall opening, check to the left for a cheese slice (hold onto it for HP recovery) and to the right for a Baseball Card, pitcher Joe Jody Gain。
Jump down to the rooftop patio. Enemies come in waves: two from the north door, then one more, then two more. There is ammo and a Heal-D bottle on the east railing. Before leaving, go to the south ramp that leads back up, break the barrel underneath it, and collect Comic 5。

Through the next door is a larger battle area with cover, Heal-D drinks, ammo, and armor. Grab the chest plate armor up the ramp in the center first, then take cover。
The main threat here is a sniper mouse who moves between three positions:
- Bottom of the ramp leading up to the crane on the north wall
- Top of that same ramp
- Corner platform above the switch on the white cable
The Micer works better against the sniper at range. Use your dash to avoid his shots. Once he is down, pull the switch behind the ramp to swing the crane platform over to the upper west wall. Jump on top of the crate, cross to the vents, follow them to the fire escape landing on the south wall, and grab the helmet there. Hit the switch to open the gate, which also drops the platform。
Three regular enemies and another sniper follow. After defeating them, the west wall door opens. Use the crane platform to reach it. Inside is a typewriter, ammo, and D-namite。

Crane switch moves the platform
Drop down and take the stairs to backstage. A set wall drops from the ceiling and three enemies come through the doors. There is a piano hanging above that you can drop. After clearing them, go through the doors and grab the cheese slice on the right。
A small mouse with D-namite blocks the path to the cannon. A gate wall slides out. Blow up the totally normal wall on the left side of the set piece, deal with the enemy that emerges, and push through the tunnel。
The next room has floats on the ground and a chest plate armor on the left. Two bat-wielding enemies and one sniper in a back-left tower are waiting. The sniper moves between the tower, the north and side landings, and ground level。
Go up the stairs on the north wall and pull the switch. The ground fills with water but a plank drops so you can cross to the south wall. Hit the switch on the landing to lower a box that reveals a trampoline to the west. Three more enemies including another sniper appear. Clear them, jump onto the nearest box, then toward the trampoline, and ride it up into the railcar. Use the typewriter at the end of the railcar, then drop down to the other side of backstage。
Approximately halfway across the room, the floor gives way and you fall into the basement。

There are pillows and blankets to cushion the fall, but two enemies are immediately on you. Get to the chest armor to the north. Two more enemies come from doors to the east, followed by one more who opens the locked north door。
Through that door, two enemies pop from windows and another comes from the west. Head west and up the steps to find Old Rat Stuntman, who teaches you the Double Jump ability. Press jump once to get airborne, then press jump again while in the air。
Before leaving, check the wheelchair next to him for Newspaper 4, which covers Mossman, a mysterious cryptid。

Two secrets are worth grabbing here before you continue:
Secret 1: Go to the table on the south side of the first basement room and face west. Double jump up to a ledge. Walk toward the stuntman area and check the table on the right for ammo and the Bartholomew Creasley Baseball Card。
Secret 2: From the stuntman area, find the white painted boards. Jump straight across, turn around, and double jump down to the water planks on the other side. Jump to the planks with the rope pile and go into the cove under the stuntman's platform. Head south to find a timed safe with spikes and move restrictions. This safe holds schematics for weapon upgrades. According to the IGN wiki, you can get locked out of this safe, so approach it carefully and make sure you are ready before starting the puzzle。
Also check the barrels on the east platform for another set of schematics。
The basement safe is timed and has movement restrictions plus spikes. If you trigger it without being ready, you can permanently lock yourself out of the schematics inside。
Climb the ladder, jump across the platforms to the open vent, turn on your flashlight, and follow it west. Drop down to a typewriter, save, then take the stairs back up to backstage。

Back in the backstage area, the cannon is straight ahead. Before going for it, check the other side of the large backdrop leaning against the left wall for a cheese slice and money piles. There is also a safe to the east with timed mechanics and money inside, plus two chests full of money on the left side。
When you are ready, double jump across to the cannon and rotate it so it is no longer aimed at Stilton. This saves him, but it also sets the stage on fire. The curtain opens as the cannon turns, and the Prima Donna descends from the ceiling。

The Prima Donna fights with a spear and uses her voice as a weapon. Here is how her attack patterns break down:
The most efficient method, based on testing her patterns, is to stay mobile with constant double jumping and dashing, then close in with the Boomstick between reloads. Aim for her head to deal extra damage. The fire barrier around the stage causes HP damage on contact, so stay aware of your position at all times。
If your HP is getting low, use any cheese slices you have been holding. According to the IGN wiki, there may be a positioning bug where you can get caught outside the fighting area if you are standing on the east side of the cannon when you rotate it. Stay on the west side to avoid this。
Use your dash to avoid the Prima Donna's charge attack. There is a rhythm to her high-note windup that you can read after the first or second attempt。

After the Prima Donna goes down, the fire ring clears and a walkway opens to the east. Go up the stairs and through the open door. The hall floor begins to collapse as you move. Look left and grab the schematic from the closet before double jumping over the large gap。
Two enemies are on the other side. Clear them, then the ceiling falls and forces you through the door on the left. This leads to a viewing balcony, which is your window for Tammy's photo. Jump onto the board connecting this balcony to the next one, face the audience seats below, and take the picture using your action button. This completes the Show Some Culture, Jack side mission。
There is a typewriter in the connected balcony. Save here. Go through the door into the lobby and fight through two enemies, then four more that come out of the south doors。

On the way back through the lobby, the building shakes and a staircase pillar falls. Use it to climb over the fire wall blocking the east path. Drop down and go through the door back into the kitchen. Fight two enemies, exit the east wall door, and watch for an enemy hiding in the storage closet next to the doorway。
As you reach the exit, the entryway catches fire and Jack starts monologuing about being stuck. Roland hears him and opens the east door, pulling you out just in time。

Roland confirms that Steve Bandel mentioned a secret lab under his mansion, but he does not know where the mansion is. Your car is parked right behind him. Drive southwest on the city map back to the office。
On the way back, stop and talk to Tammy in the alley. She is not exactly thrilled about the burning opera house photo, but she still pays you $100. Right outside your office, a paperboy is selling Newspaper 5 for $15。
Head inside, save at the typewriter, and go to the crime wall. Pin the two new clues: Somewhere Under the Mansion and Assassination Attempt. You do not need to grab any specific items during the level for these to appear。
Step outside and Cornelius Stilton is waiting at the bottom of the stairs. He has the address to the mansion with the secret lab, which sets up the next chapter: Bandel's Laboratory。
