Barn Finds are one of the best reasons to leave the race circuit and go exploring in Forza Horizon 6. Japan's map hides 15 classic and iconic cars inside rundown barns, and none of them will hand themselves over easily. You need to earn the right to find each one by progressing through the Discover Japan journal, then physically track down the barn within a marked search zone. This guide covers every Barn Find in the order you unlock them, with precise location directions for each.
How do Barn Finds work in Forza Horizon 6?
Barn Finds in Forza Horizon 6 work differently from previous entries in the series. Instead of unlocking through random radio tips, each batch of barns becomes available as you raise your Discover Japan stamp level, which runs from Visitor (stamp 1) through to Master Explorer (stamp 7). You push that level up by breaking mascots, completing food delivery jobs, street and touge races, and most importantly finishing stories (the activities marked with yellow badges in the Collection Journal).
Once a Barn Find unlocks, you get a search zone on the map. The barn sits somewhere inside that zone, usually off a dirt path or tucked into a tree line. Finding it triggers a cutscene showing the car in its dilapidated state. Here is the catch: you cannot drive it immediately. The car needs time to be restored, which can range from a few hours to several days. You can spend credits to skip the wait, but the restoration timer starts the moment you discover the barn, so finding them early pays off.

Stamp levels unlock barn locations
All 15 Barn Find locations
The table below organises every Barn Find by the stamp required to unlock it, the region it sits in, and key car stats sourced from Destructoid's community testing data.

You cannot collect a Barn Find car until you have the required stamp. Driving to the barn location before unlocking the relevant stamp level will not trigger the discovery. Earn the stamp first.
Yellow stamp (1st): Honda 2005 NSX-R GT — Ohtani region
This is the first Barn Find the game hands you, and it sets the tone for how fiddly these locations can be. The Honda NSX-R GT sits in the wooded hills along the northwest edge of the Ohtani search zone, close to where two roads converge. The terrain is rough, so bring something with decent off-road capability rather than a city car. The barn sits near a dirt path that runs up the hill between the two pinching roads.
Green stamp (2nd): Toyota 1969 2000GT and Ford Sierra Cosworth RS500 — Ito region
Both Green stamp Barn Finds sit in the Ito region, but in different spots.
The Toyota 2000GT is in the north of Ito, near the Minka House. Look for the small patch of trees close to the seawall on the southeastern edge of the search area, between two paths that lead down to the beach.
The Ford Sierra Cosworth RS500 is further south in Ito, near the borders where three regions meet. It sits up a small wooded hill south of a crossroads junction on the southern edge of the search area.
Blue stamp (3rd): Nissan Skyline 2000GT-R and Nissan Pao
The Nissan 1971 Skyline 2000GT-R is in the Nangan region, in the far south of the search area. Past the houses on the main road, a dirt path leads off toward the barn.
The Nissan 1989 Pao is in the Minamino region, in the woods on the northeast edge of the search area. It sits east of the river running through central Japan. Find the second road east of the river, head north from the L-shaped curve, and take the dirt path on your right.
Pink stamp (4th): Four Barn Finds across four regions
The Pink stamp unlocks the biggest single batch of Barn Finds in the game, spread across Ohtani, Shimanoyama, Hokubu, and Takashiro.
The Porsche 1982 911 Turbo 3.3 is in the Ohtani region, in a bamboo forest next to the dirt road between the two main roads near Mei's house.
The Peugeot 1984 205 Turbo 16 is in the Shimanoyama region, at the end of a wide dirt road that climbs a short hill from the main road in the northeast of the search area.
The Lincoln 1962 Continental is in the Hokubu region, tucked into a patch of trees next to farmland just south of the center of the search area.
The Nissan #23 Pennzoil NISMO Skyline GT-R is in the Takashiro region, on the eastern edge of the search area between where the road curves in a U-shape. I recommend also picking up the 1995 Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution III GSR Treasure Car near the waterfall in the same area.
The Nissan #23 Pennzoil NISMO Skyline GT-R has the highest braking stat of any Pink stamp unlock at 9.5, making it one of the most capable handling cars you can get at this stage of the game.
Orange stamp (5th): Mitsubishi Montero Evolution and Lamborghini Diablo SV
The Mitsubishi 1997 Montero Evolution is in the Shimanoyama region, on the southwest edge of the search area in the forest. You can actually see the dirt path leading to it if you zoom into the map, near the Bandai Azuma Skyline Drift Zone challenge.
The Lamborghini 1997 Diablo SV is in the Ito region. Take the main road through the search area to the longest deforested strip near a three-way junction, then head down the hill with the chopped trees opposite the blue digger. The barn sits on the eastern edge of the search area around the bend on the right.

Purple stamp (6th): Nissan R390 and Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution Time Attack
The Nissan 1998 R390 (GT1) is in the Ohtani region, near the border with Shimanoyama. You can reach it along the dirt path cutting through the northeastern edge of the search location, or from the main road near the Bridge Underpass Trailblazer start gate.
The Mitsubishi #1 Sierra Sierra Enterprises Lancer Evolution Time Attack is in the Shimanoyama region, almost directly in the center of the search area overlooking Narai-Juku town to the south. Take the high dirt road from the Narai-Juku Circuit road race event, then go down the path on your right where the barn sits over the hill. It is close to both the Peugeot 205 Turbo 16 location and the 1987 Porsche 959 Treasure Car.

Gold stamp (7th): Nissan Tomica Skyline and Mazda 787B
The final two Barn Finds require the Master Explorer gold stamp, the highest Discover Japan level.
The Nissan #11 Tomica Skyline Turbo Super Silhouette is in the Ito region, on the southwestern edge of the search area. Near where the main road enters the zone from the west, a wide dirt path leads south toward the barn between some notably thin trees. This is one of the few Barn Finds you can actually spot on the map itself.
The Mazda #55 787B is in the Takashiro region and is arguably the hardest Barn Find in the game despite most of the surrounding area being open fields. The barn sits in the woods directly north of the search area, past buildings, walking trails, and farmland. There is a dirt path coming off the main road on the northwest edge of the zone. With a braking stat of 10 and a speed stat of 8.0, the Mazda 787B is the single best Barn Find car in the game by raw numbers.
Which Barn Find cars are worth the effort?
Not every Barn Find is created equal. The stat data from Destructoid's launch testing makes the priority order fairly clear.
The Mazda #55 787B is the standout, with a speed of 8.0, handling of 9.6, and a perfect braking score of 10. The Mitsubishi #1 Sierra Enterprises Lancer Evolution Time Attack is close behind with a handling of 9.1 and braking of 10, making it exceptional for technical courses. The Nissan #23 Pennzoil NISMO Skyline GT-R punches well above its unlock tier with 8.4 handling and 9.5 braking.
At the other end, the Nissan Pao has a speed stat of just 3.0 and an acceleration of 1.8. It is a quirky collector's item, not a race car.

How to unlock Barn Finds faster
The Discover Japan stamp progression is the only gate between you and the Barn Finds, so pushing through it efficiently matters. Stories (yellow badge activities in the Collection Journal) give the biggest stamp progression boosts. Prioritise those over side activities like mascot breaking or delivery jobs, which contribute but at a slower rate.
The stamp levels and their color designations are: Yellow (Visitor), Green (Sightseer), Blue (Traveller), Pink (Pathfinder), Orange (Navigator), Purple (Adventurer), and Gold (Master Explorer). Each level unlocks a new batch of Barn Finds, so you will be collecting cars progressively throughout your time with the game rather than all at once.
Once you discover a barn, the restoration timer starts immediately. Since some cars take days to restore, find every barn you have access to as soon as possible, even if you are not ready to drive those cars yet. The timer runs whether you are playing or not.
