Spot the Redeem Code option sitting right on the main menu of LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight and you might assume TT Games has stashed a pile of free cheat codes somewhere online. The reality is more specific: every confirmed code right now is tied to a physical LEGO set purchase. There is one genuinely free reward available to everyone, though, and it takes about two minutes to claim. This guide covers both paths.
All confirmed redeem code rewards
Four Batman-themed LEGO sets each contain a QR code tucked inside their building instructions. Scan that code through the LEGO Insiders program and you generate a unique alphanumeric code redeemable in-game. Here is what each set unlocks:
The Batman Logo set (76330) is the only one that rewards a character skin rather than a vehicle. The three Batmobile sets each give you both the standard and golden variant of their respective car.
Each code is one-time use and expires on March 1, 2029. LEGO's official product pages confirm the QR-code digital unlocks, but no public LEGO page currently lists that expiration date officially.
How to redeem codes from LEGO sets
The process runs through the LEGO Insiders program rather than directly through the game. Here are the steps:
- Go to lego.com and sign up for the free LEGO Insiders membership, or sign in if you already have an account.
- Click the minifig head icon in the top-right corner to reach your My Membership page.
- Click the down arrow next to Menu to expand the options.
- Select My Collection, then click Add a set.
- Choose Scan QR code and scan the code from your set's building instructions.
- Your unique game code will be generated.
- Back in the game, select Redeem Code from the main menu, enter the code, and confirm.
The QR code is printed inside the building instructions booklet, not on the box. If you built the set without checking the manual, dig it back out.
How to get the free Stud Cache (no purchase required)
This one costs nothing. The game includes a LEGO Group Online Survey option buried in the menus that rewards a free Stud Cache to anyone who completes it.
Here is how to find it:
- Open the Options menu from the main screen or pause menu.
- Scroll across to the Extras section.
- Scroll down until you see LEGO Group Online Survey and open it.
- A QR code appears on screen. Scan it with your phone to reach the survey site.
- The survey takes a couple of minutes. Once finished, you receive a unique code.
- Return to the main menu, select Redeem Code, and enter it.
You need to have reached the Batcave before the Stud Cache becomes accessible in your game. Screen Rant notes this happens within the first hour of play depending on your pace, so it is not a long wait. Studs are the main currency for buying suits from Bat-Mite's shop, purchasing Batmobiles, and expanding the Batcave, so grabbing this early is worth the two minutes it takes. Do redeem code rewards count toward 100% completion?
Based on current testing documented by Game Rant, the redeem code rewards appear to be bonus cosmetics rather than collectibles required for full completion. The golden outfits and Batmobile variants sit outside the standard collectible pool. That said, Game Rant has flagged this as unconfirmed regarding trophy and achievement impact, so treat it as provisional until more players report back. If you are chasing full completion, check the how long to beat guide for a breakdown of what the main campaign and 100% runs actually demand.
Each code is single-use only. Do not share your generated code before redeeming it yourself, as it cannot be reused once claimed by someone else.
Are there any free universal redeem codes?
Not currently. Every confirmed code either requires buying a specific physical LEGO set or completing the LEGO Group survey. There are no publicly shared codes that work for all players. The game launched with other free extras, including bonus Batsuits for HBO Max subscribers and for linking a WB account, but those are separate from the Redeem Code system.
GamesRadar notes the base game already includes over 100 suits, so the redeem code rewards are genuinely bonus content rather than content gated behind purchases.
FOV settings and motion sickness on PC
This is a separate issue from codes, but worth flagging for PC players. The PC version ships with a default FOV of 75, which is lower than typical PC game defaults. Playing close to a monitor at that setting can cause dizziness during fast traversal, particularly when using the Batmobile or the grappling hook.
The fix is in the Accessibility Tab of the Options menu. Scroll to the Camera section and raise the Gameplay Field of View to the maximum of 90. Reducing Camera Shake in the same section also helps. Walking around Gotham on foot is slow enough that the default FOV causes no issues, but vehicle segments at close monitor distance are where it becomes a problem.
