What PSSR 2 actually means for PS5 Pro players
PSSR 2 represents Sony's second-generation AI upscaling technology for the PS5 Pro, delivering sharper image reconstruction and improved performance over the original implementation. The feature has been appearing in more titles recently, and Shadows joins that list with this update. Players exploring feudal Japan as Naoe or Yasuke should see cleaner visuals, especially during fast movement and in areas packed with environmental detail.
The upgrade matters most for PS5 Pro owners who've been running the standard PS5 version. After installing the patch, check your display settings to confirm PSSR 2 is active.
Switch 2 gets a proper PC-style control option
The Switch 2 change is the more surprising addition. Full keyboard and mouse support is now available for the Nintendo Switch 2 version, giving players a precision input method that most console action games skip entirely. The patch notes describe it as offering "precision and freedom" for controlling both protagonists, which makes sense for anyone who prefers that setup for stealth sections or combat encounters.
Nintendo Switch 2 keyboard and mouse functionality is still relatively uncommon, and Shadows implementing it this quickly puts it ahead of most other titles on the platform.

Bo weapons now drop for all players
Bo weapons and a stack of bug fixes
Patch 1.1.10 also unlocks Bo staff weapons for everyone, not just owners of the Claws of Awaji expansion. After earning at least one Unique Bo, non-legendary variants can drop from enemies, spawn in chests, or appear at merchant inventories. It's a straightforward change that adds more weapon variety to the base game.
The bug fix list covers a lot of ground. Notable fixes include:
- Gameplay: Enemies can now suffer up to 5 simultaneous afflictions. Previously inaccessible fast travel points are now functional.
- UI: A bug that locked total progression at 97.89% after completing all content has been fixed. The Detailed Stat Sheet now correctly shows both capped and uncapped stats.
- Weapons and perks: Yasuke's "Defensive Break Level 3" Samurai passive now displays the correct 150% damage value (was showing +50). The "Critical Insight" and "Hidden Onslaught" upgrades, both previously broken, are now working. The "Oni's Rage" Kanabo perk now accurately states it spreads 25% bleed buildup on kill.
- Quests: Multiple mission-blocking issues resolved, including corpse looting in "Brothers In Arms" and the completion trigger for "The Winter Raiders."
Players who hit a 'Missing Content' error after updating and lost gear from the Claws of Awaji expansion should find that problem fixed in this patch.
Where Shadows goes from here
This patch arrives as Shadows enters its final support phase. Future updates will be smaller and less frequent. That makes 1.1.10 one of the more substantial patches the game will likely see at this stage, and PS5 Pro and Switch 2 owners are getting real improvements out of it.
