Apple AirPods Pro 3 are sitting at $199.99 on Amazon right now, which works out to $50 off the standard $249 retail price. That's a 28% discount on a product that Apple hasn't touched with a price hike, which is more than can be said for the iPad and MacBook lines lately.
For context, the absolute floor on these was $179 during Amazon Prime Day. So this isn't a historic low, but it's close, and it's available right now without waiting for a sale event.

What makes the AirPods Pro 3 worth picking up
The third-generation AirPods Pro launched on September 19, 2025, and the headline feature is something no previous AirPods model has had: built-in heart rate sensing. That's a genuine reason to reconsider whether you need an Apple Watch if your main use case is fitness tracking during workouts or runs.
Beyond the health hardware, the audio side got a meaningful upgrade too. Noise cancellation is better than the second-gen model, audio quality has improved, and the shell now carries an IP57 weatherproof rating, which means it can handle submersion up to 1 meter for 30 minutes. That's a step up from the IP54 rating on the previous version.
Battery life also improved, though the exact numbers depend on ANC usage. The H2 chip carries over from the second generation but gets put to work on new Apple Intelligence features, including the Live Translation tool that Apple released alongside these earbuds.
Live Translation and what it actually does
Apple Live Translation is the most talked-about software addition here. It translates spoken languages in real time through the earbuds, which sounds like a feature that belongs in a sci-fi film but works well enough in practice that early user feedback has been largely positive.
Here's the thing: Live Translation isn't exclusive to the AirPods Pro 3. It also works with second-gen AirPods Pro and the AirPods 4. So if you already own either of those, you're not missing out on the feature itself.
The Android question
The AirPods Pro 3 will work with Android phones, and the audio quality and noise cancellation hold up regardless of what device you pair them with. The problem is that the features justifying the price point, heart rate monitoring, Live Translation, and H2 chip quality-of-life integrations, are all locked to Apple devices.
Android users would be better served looking at alternatives. The Samsung Galaxy Buds 3 FE are currently available for around $79.99 (down from $150) if you're on a Galaxy device, and the Bose QuietComfort earbuds can be found for around $129 (down from $180) for broader Android compatibility.
Is $199 the right time to buy
If you're an iPhone user who has been sitting on second-gen AirPods Pro or older, the heart rate sensor alone makes this a meaningful generational upgrade. The improved ANC and IP57 rating are solid additions, but heart rate monitoring without needing a separate wearable is the feature that tips the value calculation.
The $179 Prime Day price was the best deal these have seen, but that window has closed. At $199.99, you're still $50 below retail on a product that's only been out since late 2025.
