Activision confirmed that Black Ops 7 and Call of Duty: Warzone Season 3 Reloaded goes live on April 30 at 9AM PT, and the content list is substantial. A brand-new round-based Zombies map, a parkour-style competitive mode, two new multiplayer maps, a vehicle-chase Warzone LTM, and a RoboCop crossover event pass are all dropping simultaneously. For players still grinding Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 or looking to transition into Black Ops 7, this mid-season update represents one of the bigger content drops of the year.
Totenreich: the new round-based Zombies map
The headline addition for Zombies players is Totenreich, set in Eidskallen, a Norse fishing village that has been dragged into the Dark Aether. The map blends Bronze Age architecture, Viking burial mounds, and a Group 935 research facility into a single location, and the lore hook is genuinely interesting: a Shadowsmith is bound to the island, and the crew has to unravel what Group 935 actually did there.
The new enemy type, the Necropincer, is the standout mechanical addition. It wields a trident for ranged throws and carries a giant crab claw in place of its left arm, which it uses to block incoming shots. That defensive capability makes it meaningfully different from standard special enemies, since unloading into it while it has the claw raised just wastes ammo.
The Jotunn Star is the map's Wonder Weapon, a melee weapon that stores essence from kills and converts it into a chargeable fireball called Flame Strike. When two players both have fully charged Jotunn Stars, a Flame Tendril connects them and continuously damages anything caught between the two wielders. The Main Quest goes live alongside the map on April 30, and players who complete it before Directed Mode arrives will earn a unique Calling Card variant.
Operation Broken Mirror in Endgame starts at Zone III or higher from Step 1, unlike Operation Poison Pill which began at Zone I. Make sure your Operator is appropriately leveled before attempting it.
Freerun and new multiplayer modes
Freerun is the most mechanically distinct addition to multiplayer. Ten players race simultaneously through a 10-zone obstacle course called Ascent, built specifically for the mode. The course tests wall jumps, sliding, platform timing, and in later zones, the Grappling Hook and Wingsuit. Completing it in under 14 minutes with fewer than 10 faults earns the "Innovate" Universal Weapon Camo plus 5,000 XP.
Two additional LTMs round out the multiplayer additions. Heat Wave Havoc rewards non-lethal cooperative play, letting players climb through five heat levels that progressively buff their Operator, from faster Field Upgrade recharge at Low Heat all the way to increased headshot damage at Extra Extra Hot. Freeze Tag is exactly what it sounds like: a 6v6 mode where eliminated players freeze in place and need a teammate to shoot them free, with a Total Freeze bonus score awarded if one team freezes the entire enemy squad simultaneously.
On the maps side, Onsen is the new small-sized 6v6 and 2v2 map set in a Japanese hot springs facility in Yamanashi. Summit returns remastered from the original Black Ops, now with Wall Jumping built into its classic three-lane layout. Hacienda, first seen in 2018, also rejoins the pool.
What Warzone is getting
The bigger Warzone addition is Hot Pursuit, a 100-player squad mode on Avalon built around Police vs. Thieves vehicle combat. Police vehicles include the ATV, JLTV, and Light Heli, all of which can activate sirens to radar-pulse nearby Thieves. Thieves get the UTV and Dirt Bike, with the UTV offering a speed boost and the Dirt Bike triggering Active Camo plus a Smoke Grenade drop. The increased vehicle spawn rate across Avalon keeps the action from stalling.
Prop Hunt Royale brings the party mode to Rebirth Island at 24v24, with Props getting 30 seconds to pick from over a dozen prop types before Hunters move in. First team to win 3 rounds takes the match.
The new Spikes consumable at Buy Stations offers three options: Armor Salvaging (instant armor plate on kill), Prone Firing (reduced recoil while crouched or prone), and Handicraft (equipment regeneration over time). Cluster Grenades also expand from Black Ops Royale into Core Battle Royale and Resurgence.
The RoboCop event pass and new weapons
The RoboCop Event Pass is the mid-season's crossover anchor. The free track includes the new Siren Special Weapon, which fires a slow-moving high-damage projectile that passes through enemies and can be charged for improved velocity. The premium track adds the RoboCop Operator, three Weapon Blueprints, a Finishing Move, and a HUD Theme. The Katana Melee Weapon is also available as an event reward, offering high damage with a combo system that rewards timing the heavy attack release.
Four new weapon attachments are earnable through Weekly Challenges: the MK.78 Lightframe PDW Conversion (mobility-focused LMG stock), Warden 308 Badlands Pistol Kit (akimbo-compatible pistol conversion with three barrel options), Carbon 57 Fabricator Mag (self-replenishing magazine), and Ryden 45K Apex Sweeper Rig (semi-auto fire mod with fragmenting rounds).
The Ranked Series events for both Multiplayer and Warzone also return in the final week of the season, with 50-player leaderboards and Weapon Camo rewards for top placements.
