Pearl Abyss dropped Crimson Desert patch 1.13.00 across all platforms on July 4, 2026, and it is a meaty one. New outfits, Abyss access for two more characters, expanded dye support, a brand-new pet mechanic, and a long list of fixes that should smooth out some rough edges players have been bumping into since launch.
Oongka and Damiane finally reach the Abyss
The headline addition for players who have been running alternate characters: Oongka and Damiane can now enter the Abyss. That comes with a side effect worth knowing about. The locations of Memory Fragments for several rematchable bosses have shifted to accommodate the change. The affected bosses are Corrupted Caliburn, Goyen, Draven the Crowcaller, Clockwork White Horn, and several others listed in the patch notes dropdown.
If you have been farming those rematches with a specific route in mind, you will want to check the updated fragment locations before your next run.
39 new equipment pieces and a wardrobe overhaul
The gear additions are substantial. Kliff and Oongka get 39 new pieces between them, including full boss equipment sets. Here is the breakdown:
Damiane gets 8 new armor pieces, plus access to three boss equipment sets she was previously locked out of: the Guardian of Odeck outfit (5 pieces), the Dark Marksman outfit (3 pieces), and one piece of the Masked Liberator outfit.
Oongka also gains the ability to equip most of Kliff's existing outfits, which effectively doubles her wardrobe overnight. Both Kliff and Oongka can now equip the full Kuku equipment line, including the Kuku Lightning-Resistant Armor, Flame-Resistant Armor, Ice-Resistant Armor, and the Kuku Marni Laser Helm.
New equipment can be obtained through quests, achievements, shops, and what the patch notes describe as "other sources." Worth exploring.
Pet behavior, Hunter's Sigil, and quality-of-life wins
Here's the thing most players will appreciate more than any gear drop: summoned pets now rest in bed alongside your character. Small detail, genuinely charming.
The more mechanically interesting pet addition is the Hunter's Sigil, a new item that lets bird pets retrieve prey and gatherable items suited to their specialties when equipped. That has real implications for gathering efficiency if you have been building around a bird companion.
The patch also adds a Hide Minimap and Status toggle under Settings > Others > Gameplay, letting players strip the HUD down for screenshots or immersive play. Four new carpet crafting recipes are available to purchase from shops, and three new elemental plate armor crafting recipes (Lightning Bolt, Scorchflame, and Frostcursed) have been added to the game.
Combat and control fixes that actually matter
The combat fix list is long but a few stand out. Muskets and pistols can now be fired while sliding, which opens up some interesting movement options in fights. Axiom Force now immediately targets the locked-on enemy during soft lock-on instead of occasionally missing the target.
Several character-specific issues got cleaned up too. Oongka's Aerial Grapple now works while the Kuku Rocket Pack is equipped. Damiane's Smiting Strike Proficiency can finally be used with a spear equipped. A bug that let Damiane move at abnormal speed after quick-swapping to the broom following Flame Rush has been patched out.
Enemy behavior got attention as well. The Flame Knight, Wyvernflames, Savage Fang, and Goldenscale Bandits all received new special attacks, so expect those encounters to feel slightly different.
Stability, visuals, and the long tail of polish
PS5 players who noticed occasional cutscene stutter will find that fixed here. Two separate crash conditions tied to opening the map and triggering boss rematches have been resolved. Load times that were occasionally running longer than expected should normalize.
On the visual side, necklace clipping through certain helms is gone, wyvern flight animations have been refined, and the rider animation on wild wolves and bears without saddles looks considerably less awkward. Housing mode received multiple fixes too, including misaligned well placement and controls locking up after placing certain installations.
